Headline: The Real Reason Behind Washington’s "Emergency" Tax
If you think the new "Millionaire’s Tax" (SB 6346) is just about funding schools, you’re missing the most important part. There is a massive "shell game" happening in Olympia right now involving a billion-dollar debt and a high-stakes lawsuit against the Governor.
1. The "Racketeering" Scandal (The Ferguson-WSU Lawsuit)
Before he was Governor, Bob Ferguson was the Attorney General. While he was in charge, his office and WSU were hit with a $42 million lawsuit for "racketeering."
The "Dumbed Down" version: A private tech company (Pollock) says the state basically "rigged" a $15 million contract so the money would go to WSU instead of a private business. They claim the state used "criminal profiteering" tactics to keep the money in-house.
The Conflict: Now, as Governor, Ferguson’s administration is fighting this lawsuit in court while also cutting WSU’s budget—all while needing cash to pay for the state’s legal defense.
2. The $1 Billion "Pot-Hole"
Washington has a special bank account (the Tort Defense Fund) used to pay people when the state makes a mistake or gets sued.
Right now, that account is $1 BILLION in the red. * The state is losing so many lawsuits—for things like medical neglect and foster care issues—that they are literally running out of money to pay the "bills" for their own mistakes.
3. The "Emergency" Trick
This is where you come in. To fill that $1 billion hole, the state wants this new tax. But they added an "Emergency Clause" to the bill.
Why? Normally, if the state passes a law you don’t like, you can gather signatures for a referendum to stop it until the next election.
The Catch: By calling it an "emergency," they legally BLOCK your right to a referendum. They are essentially saying, "The state's legal debt is so bad, it's an emergency, and we can't let the voters stop us from taking this money."
4. Where the Money Really Goes
They say it’s for "the kids," but the math tells a different story:
93% of the tax money goes into the General Fund. * This is a "flexible" pot of money. It isn't locked into schools; it can be used to bail out the Tort Fund and pay for those massive lawsuits (like the WSU/RICO claim).
Only 7% is actually set aside for a specific cause (Public Defense).
The Bottom Line: The state is using an "emergency" label to bypass your vote so they can pay for their own legal scandals.
Watch what happens tomorrow: The House Finance Committee votes at 8:00 AM on Friday, Feb 27. If they keep that "Emergency Clause" in, they are officially taking the choice out of your hands.
For the first time in over two years the United States has delivered manufacturing expansion, all thanks to President Trumps trade policies.
Tariffs are working as we said strengthening American manufacturing while reducing imports. Once again, the so-called experts were wrong.
Alex Pretti was itching for another confrontation with Border Patrol, whom he’d been stalking, harassing and terrorizing. HE had been victimizing THEM. His felonies are on tape. He was reckless, and it cost him his life. Find another poster boy, illegal-loving Leftists.

Make sense yet?
I’m just here pointing out the obvious.
If a police officer pulls me over, and I don’t like the charges, I can have my day in court.
If I get out of my car, stick my phone in his face and cuss him out, I’ll get additional charges and probably arrested.
If I get out of my car and get in a fist fight with him, I deserve to get my ass beat.
If I choose to get in a fist fight with him and have a gun on me, I deserve to get shot if they feel threatened making split second decisions.
All this can be avoided if I simply accept, and respect, the officer’s authority a remain a law abiding citizen.
The fact this is a wild take in America today is laughable.
The Minnesota Somali fraud exposes everything that is wrong with government. Politicians and their administrators spend other people’s (taxpayers’) money to advance their own interests —getting themselves and their party elected and reelected by supporting an ethnic group which votes as a block — under the guise of supporting a purported good, in this case child daycare, autism care and ‘healthcare’ broadly defined.
When this fraud is combined with a system which allows one voter to ‘verify’ up to eight other voters who do not have to show state or federal ID, at best you destroy the American people’s confidence in our democratic voting system, and, at worst, you have rigged elections.
The only way this stops is for the people responsible to suffer severe criminal consequences and for there to be a Federal internal audit system where private citizen bounty hunters who find fraud earn rewards equal to a percentage of the grift identified.
The time to fix our broken system is now.
Charlie Munger: "I've had my Berkshire stock decline by 50% three times and it doesn't bother me that much. It's a part of the game."
Volatility is a part of the game. Just stay calm, and don’t make decisions in panic.
Remember, we are just 6% away from the all-time high.
