Today, the National Film and Video Censors Board @nfvcb, @igalaman hosted me and presented me with a recognition award for grossing over a billion naira at the box office, and for being the first solo director to achieve such a feat with a debut project.
This is a huge honor, one I deeply cherish and appreciate, especially coming from such a reputable organization.
As if that wasn’t enough to make the day unforgettable, I was pleasantly surprised when Her Majesty, Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi @hrmoloritemitope graced us with her presence despite her demanding schedule. Even more humbling was hearing her share how Oversabi Aunty inspired her to reevaluate how she relates with her children.
Oversabi Aunty is more than just a film, it is a wake-up call for families, especially mothers, to realize that there is more to raising a child than shouting or reacting dramatically.
Thank you to everyone who showed up today, sent kind words, and to those who are genuinely happy to see the efforts of a young woman being recognized and celebrated. The greatest fan in the world, Toyintitans, I see you and I love you all. My partners Filmone, @filmone thank you for being there every step of the way. This is the first of many.

This sparked criticism from mental health professionals and activists, including the Indian Psychiatric Society, who felt strongly that the title put mental health in a negative light and trivialized the issue. To douse tension, the producers were advised to modify/stylize the
We must note that title modification or stylization after approval of a film is not new to the movie ecosystem. A recent example is the 2019 Indian Film "Judgemental Hai Kya". The initial title was "Mental Hai Kya" (Are you mental?)....

The title was assessed within the broader context of the film’s storyline and thematic treatment rather than as a direct commentary on the religious celebration itself. A key consideration in the Board’s decision was that the film does not depict, reenact, mock, or trivialize...
During review, the title was interpreted as metaphorical rather than literal—understood as a reference to human conduct, moral contradictions,or social realities unfolding during a festive period, and not as an ascription of impropriety to Christmas as a sacred Christian event. /3
RE: "A Very Dirty Christmas"
The film, including its title, was granted approval after a careful and thorough review process, which took into account the narrative context and the creative intent of the producers../2
