Today, we join the world in observing Global Accessibility Awareness Day by reaffirming our commitment to a more inclusive and accessible future for all. At RATA (Rwanda Assistive Technology Access), we work daily to break barriers and ensure that persons with disabilities have equal access to education, communication, digital technologies and employment through assistive technology, awareness creation, advocacy, and capacity building.
Accessibility is not a privilege but a right and a foundation for equal opportunity, dignity, and participation. Together, we continue building a world where everyone can fully take part without limitations. 💙

Yesterday , Rwanda Assistive Technology Access (RATA) continued the digital literacy program at Hanga Hub in Nyagatare, supporting youth with disabilities ♿ including those with visual impairments, physical disabilities, and dwarfism. The session builds practical digital skills that improve independence, access to opportunities, and inclusion in the digital world, and it reflects RATA’s commitment to inclusive development and empowering persons with disabilities in digital transformation.

Last Friday, RATA in collaboration with the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) officially launched a project for promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in TVET schools through the use of assistive technology funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Rwanda.
The initiative focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity, improving access to appropriate assistive technologies, and raising awareness on inclusive learning in TVET schools across Rwanda.
By reducing barriers, it will enable persons with disabilities to gain skills, independence, and employment opportunities.
