it angers me to think my coworkers might see this as perfectly normal, that this is how it was meant to be for them, that they arent tremendously lucky to be live this kind of life.

just a week ago, i was busting my ass doing 11 hour days at a restaurant, standing for 10 of those hours. my chinese immigrant coworkers had to do that for 6 days a week, whereas i only did 3. i cant believe im being paid more now

i wonder how long it would take before i too consider cleaning a public restroom to be beneath me. many of my co-workers got their job here right out of college, or they had other tech jobs before. for right now at least, i find it hard to imagine this sort of life as normal

man it's wild to go from working retail/food service to working at tech. been at my new job for 3 days, and it of course doesn't feel real to me. like, wow, i cant believe im sitting in a chair for the entire day
