A little advice to any northern minority tribe, whenever you see a gathering discussing national politics and their choices, stay silent even if your opinion is needed. If it becomes mandatory to speak, a kind and gentle smile will go a long way. I repeat, don't contribute to such conversations. None of them truly have your interest at heart. You are just a pawn in the game. of chess.

I see the fault of VDM for taking Nigerian matters on his head. It is obvious that he can't be right in the face of many. Nothing passes your safety and that of your immediate family if you can provide yourself with it.
@sowore First thing first, you are not an expert in this particular field, energy generation isn't just a roundtable discussion, it involves feasibility and how sustainable it can be. Even Europe who pioneered the concept could not sustain it. So bro just rest π₯±
Tear gas release isn't shooting. Thank God we can identify clearly what happened. If you are not healthy, you have no business in such a gathering because the unforseen circumstances can occur and you have yourself to blame. You can protest peacefully without disrespecting the authorities available to maintain order.
THE RESILIENCE OF HOPE
Celebrating Nigeriaβs Democratic Journey alongside Global Precedent.
Today, June 12, 2026, Nigeria stands proud as the nation marks Democracy Day. It is a moment of deep reflection, a celebration of hard-won liberty, and a tribute to the unyielding spirit of the Nigerian people. While the historic events of June 12, 1993 which I was barely 5 years old, laid the foundation of our collective yearning for self-governance, our uninterrupted journey under civilian rule has reached a crucial milestone of 27 years of continuous democratic governance since 1999.
In the grand theater of global history, democracy is not a sprint but it is an enduring marathon. To truly appreciate the weight of Nigeriaβs progress, one only has to look at older global models, such as the United States. Following the signing of its Declaration of Independence in 1776, the US has navigated its democratic path for 250 years.
When myself and many other well meaning Nigerians look across this vast timeline, a powerful correlation emerges.
The Parallel Paths of Growth
Every great democracy is forged in fire, shaped by internal struggles, and refined by structural adjustments over generations. The achievements of older democracies were not built in a day, nor were they free from monumental crises.
THE AMERICAN JOURNEY:
Over its two and a half centuries, the US endured a devastating civil war, painful eras of civil rights struggles, and deep economic depressions before cementing the institutional stability it exhibits today.
THE NIGERIAN TRAJECTORY:
At 27 years of uninterrupted democratic progression, Nigeria is actively writing its own opening chapters. Our achievements marked by peaceful transitions of power between opposing political parties, an increasingly vibrant and independent judiciary even though few have their reasons to argue, and a deeply engaged, tech-savvy youth populace demanding transparency, show a nation maturing at an incredible pace.
A FUTURE BUILT TO LAST:
On this Democracy Day, as we celebrate 27 years of choosing the ballot over the bullet, we acknowledge that our system isn't perfect, because no democracy is. The true victory lies in our ongoing commitment to the process.
Just as the US continues to perfect its union after two and a half centuries, Nigeria is rapidly building a legacy of freedom, accountability, and unity in real-time. The resilience, courage, and sacrifices of those who fought for June 12 have not been in vain. We are proving to the world that our democracy is here to stay.
This is a deliberate piece in comparison to the US years of democracy and that of our great country Nigeria, barely 3 decades but yet we can count on our achievements as a nation. I know we are facing a series of unwanted challenges as a nation which many may think we can not get out of it, I assure you as a law abiding citizen of Nigeria, with the love and dedication of the country in the heart of every individual, we can defeat the unknown.
Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria!

I realised if you wanna stay peaceful in your communities, never allow anyone to come exploring for natural resources in that community here in Nigeria. If you mistakenly allow that, you have yourselves to blame because non state actors will mobilise their machinery for peace disruption.
