🔮 The clairvoyant story 🔮

In mid-1966, Cevert’s then-girlfriend, Nanou van Melderen, visited an elderly clairvoyant in France. Ahead of Cevert’s pivotal attempt at the Volante Shell Formula 3 scholarship that October, Nanou showed the seer a photo of him.

The Reading:

The clairvoyant allegedly described a vision of a strange machine ("wheels but no body"), rapid national fame, and a stark coda.

“This young man will not live to see his 30th birthday”

It is said that Nanou van Melderen did not disclose this part to François Cevert.

Cevert visited the seer himself later that year. She repeated the warning unprompted, and Cevert—channeling typical racing-era bravado—reportedly brushed it off with, "To disappear at the height of my fame—what a glorious death."

On October 6, 1973, Cevert suffered a fatal accident during qualifying for the United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen.

Born in February 1944, he was 29 years and 7 months old—missing his 30th birthday by four months.

So was the clairvoyant genuine or just a very very tragic guess which unfortunately came true?
