@cheycheykule@kenyanpundit@KURAroads Merging of lanes both directions needs to extended..atleast by 50-100m.. Secondly those bus stops need moved inward..creates traffic obstruction..
Zambia’s plant is up and running. Ethiopia’s urea plant of 3M tonnes is about to kickoff. How i wish Kenya could follow suit. Its all about lowering cost of production.
President HICHILEMA Commissions Zambia’s Largest Urea Plant
By Ruth Chayinda
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has officially commissioned Zambia’s largest urea fertiliser plant, which will produce 300,000 tonnes of fertiliser annually.
The facility, owned by the Wonderful Group of Companies, is now the second-largest urea plant in Africa and forms part of a US$641 million industrial complex.
The project also includes an 85-megawatt power plant and an ammonia plant capable of producing 180,000 tonnes of fertiliser.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, President HICHILEMA urged investors to prioritise the energy sector, highlighting its critical role in driving economic development.
He stated that the establishment of the urea and compound D fertiliser plants positions Zambia to become a fertiliser manufacturing hub in the region.
The President added that the new facilities are expected to enhance food security and contribute to stabilising the national currency.
President HICHILEMA also directed the Minister of Lands to urgently resolve any outstanding land issues related to the project site.
@Bygones_24 I love their sportsmanship. They have really transformed Kenyan women running. 10 yrs ago, our women were hardly winning anything in major athletics. Now the Men, need to step up before olympics..
@Bygones_24 @teranga_lion Yes. I like what Muranga County is attempting to do in terms of working with farmers and locking the offtakes & price. What a farmer wants is clear path from production to selling their produce at a predictable price.
I agree ..and these strictly should cut across different produces ..the desperation that you see in farmers post harvest of perishable produce is not good. Counties are quite vocal in pushing seedlings but dont develop structures to handle the produce and in the end farmer gives up.
@Kenya_Agron David, thank you for inspiring many of us to push knowledge boundaries. Wherever you’ll be, we’ll continue learning from each other. All the best.
My biggest advice to you today: Whatever you are farming, please collect as much data and observations as possible. Whether its standing population, tests, nutrient timing/response, cob characteristics…anything measurable. The difference between good and average is marginal changes…Can’t even imagine what i will be able to do with AI in couple of years!
