“I didn’t hear complaints when a grounded character was grounded but now all of a sudden you take a super space cop with a magic ring and you make him a regular detective on earth with a thrifted jacket and no magic ring everybody is upset”
Imagine a Flash show where Wally West thinks he's better than Barry Allen and he proceeds to beat the shit out of Barry, steal his speed, Barry dies from something stupid, then Wally tells Jay Garrick to fuck off to another earth
Media literacy this, media literacy that, SAY ANYTHING ELSE! You just cant comprehend that someone would understand the themes of the show and still think its bad
Not a single person that defends this show ever talks about anything besides themes because its literally all it has
lanterns is radicalizing me bro i just got called a child because i said i want green lantern stuff in my green lantern show
this is the problem. people are embarrassed to be into superheroes so they attach onto this because it makes them feel more adult
I can never take Lanterns defenders seriously because they’re saying people are stupid for wanting the character who is famous for having big cosmic alien fights to have big cosmic alien fights
Good writing ✅
Hype moments ✅
Aura✅
Sci-fi elements ✅
Did all these with significantly lesser budget. But #those people will mock you if you demanded this
"Lanterns is great because it had themes and you all hate it because there was no cgi fight" is everything that people who like this show seem to be able to say
I can recognize the themes in the show, I just think none of them were properly explored and the plot itself was bad
Lanterns S2 has hella potential if they listen to criticism and take pride in being a superhero show. The writing is great and it could be even greater if it embraced the Green Lantern mythos.
@hassanhamidfilm I’m ngl yall act like it’s such a crime that I wanted my comic book show to be both well written AND comic booky like it hasn’t been proven to be possible
Loki season 1 had every single fantastical element that the character had in the comics AND amazing writing at the same time. Can you say the same about Lanterns?
