*NIGERIA HIGH COMMISSIONER RECEIVES NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL DELEGATION*

On the 3rd of August 2026, *Her Excellency, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode mni, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Sierra Leone,* received in audience Mr. Ike Okoha, Deputy Director, IPRU, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), an Agency under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment of Nigeria and other members of the NADDC delegation at the Chancery in Freetown.

The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the High Commissioner to inform the Mission of their participation in the ongoing Nigeria- Sierra Leone Maiden Trade Fair 2026 and to brief Her Excellency on the Council's activities at the exhibition.

Mr. Okoha stated that the Council's participation is aimed at showcasing Nigeria's automotive industry, promoting indigenous automotive development, and fostering stronger trade and investment partnerships between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

In her remarks, Her Excellency welcomed the delegation and commended the National Automotive Design and Development Council for its efforts in advancing Nigeria's industrial development and projecting the country's automotive sector on the international stage. She reiterated the Mission's commitment to supporting initiatives that deepen bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about expanding collaboration to promote Nigeria's economic interests and strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.

*HIGH COMMISSIONER OF NIGERIA ATTENDS THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE MAIDEN NIGERIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TRADE FAIR IN FREETOWN*

On the 30th July 2026, *Her Excellency, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode mni*, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Sierra Leone, attended the opening ceremony of the Maiden Nigeria Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair held in Freetown.

The event was officially declared open by the Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Sierra Leone, *Hon. Alpha Ibrahim Sesay* highlighting the shared commitment of both countries to promoting trade, investment, and private sector development.

The Maiden Trade Fair provides an important platform for fostering commercial partnerships, showcasing Nigerian products and services, and strengthening the longstanding economic and bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Koroma was accompanied by Chief Tony Izubundu Chinyere, a Nigerian national. The visit underscored the enduring friendship between Nigeria and Sierra Leone and the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

*COURTESY VISIT BY THE CHAIRMAN/CEO OF IJEOMA LTD TO THE NIGERIA HIGH COMMISSION, FREETOWN*

On the 28th July 2026, The Nigerian High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone, *Her Excellency Ambassador Ayo Luther- Ogbomode, mni,* received the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Ijeoma Ltd, Mr. Vwede J. Obahor, on a courtesy visit at the Chancery in Freetown.

During the meeting, Mr. Obahor briefed Her Excellency on the activities of Ijeoma Ltd, a software development and on-demand technology company currently focused on Sierra Leone. He informed the High Commissioner of the company's plans to officially launch its innovative transportation and logistics platform in the country through its flagship mobile application, Ije, which is designed to connect passengers, drivers, and logistics providers while reducing transportation and delivery costs.

The Chairman further disclosed that the Ije application is being showcased at the ongoing Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Trade Fair in Freetown as part of efforts to introduce the platform to the Sierra Leonean market and build strategic partnerships.

Her Excellency commended the initiative and welcomed the investment, noting that technology-driven transportation solutions have the potential to improve mobility, create employment opportunities, and contribute to Sierra Leone's economic development. On 27th July 2026, the Nigerian High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone, *Her Excellency, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode, mni,* hosted manufacturers of Made-in-Nigeria products currently in Sierra Leone to participate in the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Trade Fair.

During the meeting, Her Excellency warmly welcomed the delegation, led by Dr. Onyeka Nwafor, a member of the Organising Committee of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Sierra Leone. She commended the delegation for its commitment to promoting Nigerian-made products beyond Nigeria's borders and reaffirmed the Mission's commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The visiting manufacturers included Mr. Andrew Anya, Founder of Shoe Planet; Mrs. Glory Essien of Globuild Enterprise; and Mr. Obinna, representing the Aba Export Growth Lab.
