It is therefore both troubling and regrettable that in the planning of the National Dialogue, the Presidency or government saw it fit to grant the De Klerk Foundation a formal role, yet no similar courtesy or formal invitation was extended to Mr. Zuma in his capacity as a former President of the Republic and not as leader of any political formation. Such a decision is more than a mere oversight; it raises serious questions about fairness, political impartiality, and the integrity of the process. It is perplexing that a democratic government would prioritise the involvement of a former apartheid President’s foundation over the basic courtesy owed to a duly and democratically elected former Head of State of our beloved country. That is a serious contradiction that cannot be defended.
Equally disturbing is the failure of the Presidency’s senior administrative officials; whether the Director-General or the Cabinet Secretary to flag and correct such an exclusion before it became public. Such acts, whether by design or neglect, deepen the divisions within our society and compromise the Presidency’s duty to unite rather than polarise. This is not an isolated incident. The same pattern was visible during the inauguration of Namibian President, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, when official Presidency and government platforms deliberately excluded Mr. Zuma from shared images, despite his presence as a former President of South Africa. Such behaviour is beneath the dignity of our democratic institutions and smacks of petty politicking.
The Presidency as an institution is not, and must never become, a political weapon of the incumbent. It is the highest office of the Republic, and with that comes the responsibility to act in a manner that is scrupulously fair, inclusive, and respectful to all who have served in that role. Anything less diminishes the stature of the Presidency, damages our democratic credibility, and undermines national unity.
I therefore urge the The @PresidencyZA, its communications team, and the @GovernmentZA Communication and Information System to refrain from actions that are plainly malicious, politically selective, or deliberately exclusionary. These actions harm our country’s image and deepen societal divisions at a time when we most need to build bridges. The dignity of the Presidency is not a partisan asset; it is a national trust that must be preserved with the utmost care.
I thank you for your attention to this matter.
Yours in Patriotism,
Lunathi Kilani 🇿🇦🏳️🌈

Open Letter to the Institution of the Presidency
As a peace-loving citizen of our beloved Republic of South Africa and a committed patriot, I write to you with a deep sense of concern for the integrity of the @PresidencyZA as an institution. I am compelled to raise this matter not out of personal preference or factional alignment, but in defence of the constitutional dignity and apolitical standing that the office must uphold at all times.
It is my considered view that under the tenure of the incumbent President, the Presidency has become overly politicised. While it is perfectly understandable that President Cyril Ramaphosa is both a politician and the President of the African National Congress, and that his core staff and advisers may naturally carry his political outlook, the Presidency itself should always transcend party politics. It is an institution that belongs to the Republic, not to any political party or individual, and it must remain above political feuds or personal rivalries.
I am particularly troubled by how the Presidency has conducted itself on matters involving the incumbent and his immediate predecessor, Mr. Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Mhlanganyelwa Zuma. The personal or political differences between the two are their private matter; they should not be projected onto the functioning or communications of the Presidency. Whether one finds Mr. Zuma admirable or disagreeable, whether political and economic elites frown upon him or whether certain bureaucrats hold personal reservations, the fact remains that he is a former President of the Republic, he was duly elected, constitutionally sworn in the 4th President of our beloved country, and having served as Head of State, Chief Executive, and Commander-in-Chief. That history cannot be rewritten, nor should it be diminished. We can debate or argue his legacy but never to a point of erasing him from the rightful place of history.

A Provincial Commissioner will not risk his job, credibility and life by calling a Press conference to talk about allegations of corruption within government, the SAPS, members of parliament and the mafia-like operations that are taking place at the expense of South Africans just for show. Those who are more concerned about the protocols to follow to utter such concerns, those who are concerned about the optics of going public, those who are calling for the suspension of General Mkhwanazi instead of the information made public, that is who we need to be concerned about. No man or woman in their right mind would risk their lives going public like that. The lid of the Real South Africa has been lifted.
In my Kasi, there was this 104 years old granny. She was very old, couldn't do most of the things by herself.
Her family was ready to allow her to rest and go to heaven. One day we heard the whole family crying, kanti uGogo ushonile.
Wafika umphakathi to give their condolences. The minute bamuvala ngengubo, akhale umagriza “Yho! nangiphonsa ngengubo kushisa kangaka why Amanda?”. Kuthiwe haibo! Gogo awushonanga? athi “Kushone unyoko, angiyi ndawo”.
But uGogo was too old, uyakwazi ukuhlala i2 hours engaphefumli kanti inhliziyo ibethela phansi very slowly. Another morning they tried waking her up, “Gogo vuka”. Nix response uGogo. Ivele ikhale iFamily, “Yhuuuuu! Gogo! Oh why kodwa nkosu jesu”. Suddenly bezwe iVoice kaGogo, “Into ezongibulala yilomsindo eniwenzayo”. They got shocked and confused by the fact that uGogo usaphila.
They decided that uGogo makayohlala esibhedlela because now they can't take care of her. One day ikhale imachine “twiiiiiiiiii” the nurses arrived and she was declared dead, when eyofakwa eFridgen, akhale “Yho!, cima le aircon mntwana ndin. Light iHeater please”. ama nurse got scared, they suggested that she must go home.
When she got home, she died. They waited for her the whole day thinking she will wake up but she didn't. Abantu base mortuary arrived wearing their black suits bezomthatha, avule amehlo athi “haybo! Naze naClean kangaka, niyaphi?”. Yey babaleke baphume nge gate. Wahlala uGogo ethule, few days later wathi ningangivusi ksasa ngihambile.
It was true the following day she was no more. During her funeral abahlali beminyile and worried. Kuthiwe ningaculi kakhulu nizomvusa lomuntu. Umfundisi came with wireless headphones for everyone so makashumayela he won't make noise.
UGogo was indeed legendary.🔥🤞🏽
