The Interahamwe who remained after carrying out the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda are now responsible for key roles within Burundi's security institutions, intelligence services, and other state structures. That is why President Évariste Ndayishimiye and those Interahamwe continue their plan to eliminate the Tutsi in the DRC. We have repeatedly said that many of the assets looted by the Interahamwe during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda were taken to Burundi, including Radio Rwanda, which was looted by the Interahamwe and has now been turned into the CNDD-FDD radio station. Among the Interahamwe who killed Tutsi during the Genocide are also senior officials who now lead Burundi. This is the source of the hatred that President Évariste Ndayishimiye keeps expressing, including his declared intention to remove Rwanda's leadership.
