On International Menstrual Hygiene Day, we took to a nearby Basti & found this Woman Warrior who was a midwife there & made it a point to throw away dirty clothes used by women. Also if need be she makes sure to get sanitary napkins from the retailers.

And guess who helped us collect all these females at one place.!! #strongwomen

[JanJeevan @ngojanjeevan]

While the school going girls were quite shy about even coming out and taking the pad packets with a few male members of the community scorning us for talking ‘irrelevant things in public’, this #StrongWoman came up to us & appreciated our work & asked for our contact. #HatsOff

Happy Menstrual Hygiene Day to all the women out there!!
The Vision behind MHD is “to create a world in which every woman & girl can manage her menstruation in a hygienic way-wherever she is-in privacy, safety & with dignity.”

Maternity pad vending machine installed yesterday in collab with Rotary Club of Vikramshila Pink at Mayaganj Hospital, Bhagalpur. Cuz it’s never too late to celebrate Mother’s Day 🤱🏻 #padathon #menstrualhygiene #womenhealth #healthandwellness #motherhood

Major issue when you try & educate people on menstrual hygiene is they refuse to talk about it considering it a shame, not realising talking about the problem is the first step towards solving it. #TalkAboutIt #BreakMentalBarriers #MenstrualHygiene #BlessedtoBleed #StandByHer

[JanJeevan @ngojanjeevan]

So these girls were pretty interactive after the first few initial minutes & told us about the unsafe menstrual practices they resort to becz of lack of availability of cheaper Sanitary towels #StandByHer #BlessedToBleed #MenstrualHygiene #BreakMentalBarriers #TalkAboutIt

[JanJeevan @ngojanjeevan]

Menstruation is NOT a curse. We have to own it, accept it & learn about it. Period.

Not to forget the guests that left even before we started our AV on menstrual hygiene & safe menstrual practices because "menstruation is not a subject that should be talked about in public." Happy Women's Day? #BreakMentalBarriers #InternationalWomensDay #StandByHer

[JanJeevan @ngojanjeevan]

And on the other side the 'didis' of the hostel were too shy to even take the sample Pankh pads in their hand that we wanted to give. #BreakMentalBarriers #InternationalWomensDay #MenstrualHygiene #StandByHer

[JanJeevan @ngojanjeevan]

Witnessed both sides on menstrual hygiene this Women's Day. Where in one school the females were all upfront in clearing their doubts on Menstrual hygiene, had a fun & interactive session with them 💖 #InternationalWomensDay #MenstrualHygiene #StandByHer

Here we get to choose what nailpaint to apply for that house party & on the other side are girls who struggle to even come to school on period days. Glimpses from awareness workshop in a govt school with Rotary Pink. #StandByHer #BreakMentalBarriers #PadMan #MenstrualHygiene

@lady_C_tweets Thank you! :)

Our superwomen left behind all prejudices and dropped mental barriers to take a 3-day training with Mr. J Kannan who has been a friend & guide to us throughout this journey! #PadMan #BreakMentalBarriers
