Apparently people don't know who a Cardinal is and the amount of influence they yield.

Most of these guys have diplomatic passports, have trained at the highest level of philosophy, theology, and a major discipline. Maybe a little research on Cardinal Sarah and how he became one of the few national figures willing to challenge Sékou Touré's authoritarian regime publicly in Guinea.

A Cardinal does not engage in partisan politics. It's beneath them. However when it comes to the need to intellectually be at the defense of human rights, youth engagement, poverty eradication, and moral empowerment, they'd never be quiet.

@remiopakunle @Uchechukwupatr5 That detail is beginning to concern me and I feel like the failure in the photo you tried to correct likely had a similar detail.

Without sufficient development/anchorage length, all the tension in the top bar is being resisted by that “hook” or bend alone.

Is this built yet?

@remiopakunle @Uchechukwupatr5 No I’m not referring to torsion. I don’t think the beam fails in torsion.

What I think happens, is that because the anchorage length isn’t met at all, the hook of the top bar of the slab into the beam gives way due to repeated cyclic loading(hence the fatigue).

@Uchechukwupatr5 @remiopakunle RC detailing is not my area as such but I agree with Remi. Anchorage rules matter.

That detail shown appears to be highly susceptible to fatigue and infact I think that whist regular checks for deflection and all that might work, fatigue will cause the failure.
