NAMIBIAVOTES2024 | The number of registered voters has passed the one million mark, with the latest statistics on the General Registration of Voters (GRV) indicating a cumulative 1,153,916 registered voters as of July 20.
This figure, however, shows that an average of 27,404 people registered per day, which is a slight decline compared to the turnout of the previous week.
The latest statistics also show that 8 out of 14 regions have achieved 70% of eligible voters having registered. The Ohangwena Region has recorded the highest number of registered voters at 80%, followed by the Omusati and Oshana regions, which also recorded about 80% of registered voters. The Kunene Region has 75% of registered voters, followed by the Erongo Region at 72%, the Oshikoto Region at 71%, while the ||Kharas and Kavango West regions have recorded 70% each.
The GRV continues across the country and at all Namibian diplomatic missions abroad until August 1, 2024, Monday to Saturday, from 08:00 to 19:00.
