This is concerning. For the first time, a Chinese model Kimi K3 has taken #1 on the Frontend Code Arena and is scoring at or near the frontier on other benchmarks.
Meanwhile America is tying itself in knots: politicians and bureaucrats are banning new data centers, piling on state regulations, and pushing for new federal agencies to pre-approve frontier models.
This is how you lose the AI race. The rest of the world won’t play by our rules if we bog ourselves down. Permissionless innovation is how America won the internet and became the technological envy of the world. We can do it again with AI -- while addressing risks in a targeted way -- or we’ll watch our lead evaporate.
@lowes is not what they used to be. Bought a dishwasher for a remote home since they offered free install. 2 last minute canceled appointments over the last month. Also they emailed me saying we’re not giving you the delivery rebate, even though I qualified. I’m Just going to cancel and go with a local company. Lesson learned.
Another awesome donation pickup in Louisiana! I never get tired of seeing everyone’s mining setups and hearing the stories behind them.
Now I’m headed back through Texas. If you’re along the way and have equipment you’d like to donate, let me know!
@aakashgupta I used to race sailboats. Before AIS was on every boat it was not required to have on during the race. I made a “pirate mode where I would hit a switch that would allow me to see everyone else but not transmit my signal. It’s as simple as unplugging a wire…
@bryan_johnson Good move! This is why I founded @JellyBeanRM 20 years ago. People thought I was crazy but Tires are not compounded for kids to play on. While we don’t make a turf solution we make a non tire medical grade rubber for kids playgrounds.
@Storage_Venture None in particular. I feel like they were changing the exercises up every day or 2. It was a process but I’d say it’s worth a shot to avoid surgery…
I’m a value investor. I’m generally agnostic to the asset class if I see a way to make money with a margin of safety. A broker who feeds me deals asked why I don’t touch Multifamily and residential:
I had we buy gold stores from 09-14. Shockingly very little was stolen. Mostly people getting rid of their parents stuff they would rather have cash for. Or folks in a cash bind. It was a great business until it got saturated. Most jurisdictions you had to hold what you bought for 30 days. Some areas you had to log in what you bought in a database so the police could see. Everyone had to give us an Id to sell so they knew they could get caught. I mainly did pop up deals with landlords of strip malls to fill vacant space on a 30 day notice. Landlord would fill empty space and we would get rent about 20 percent of market. It worked at that time as there was a lot of vacancy.
