During a random web search, I ran across this Facebook post.
Compare that to the book page on Google Books, and you will understand why I have zero respect for the Meiteis, now Tangkhuls as well.

Exposing the Modus Operandi of the Tangkhul led Militants and few Naga Tribes of Manipur and their nefarious agendas against the Kukis.
1. Arm and Mobilise
2. Plan and Provoke
3. Launch Attacks
4. Spread Propaganda
5. Deflect and Escape.
Facts cannot be erased by propaganda.
🕯️ What happened at Kultuh Village, Kamjong today
In the early hours, at around 4:30 a.m., approximately 80 heavily armed militants crossed from Myanmar into India and attacked Kultuh (also known as Kultuk) village in Kamjong District, Manipur. The militants, identified as members of NSCN Eastern Flank, and Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA), entered the village before dawn.
They burned 7 houses and killed two Kuki civilians:•
1) Letminlun Haokip – Head Deacon, Kuki Baptist Church, Kultuh 2) Lunminthang Haokip – Youth Leader, Kuki Baptist Church, Kultuh.
Kultuh is an old historic Kuki village in the Chassad/Kamjong region. Decades of conflict and cross-border attacks have reduced it to just a few households, but it remains part of the traditional Kuki homeland.
This attack is part of a recurring pattern of violence against vulnerable Kuki villages in the district. The militants came from across the Myanmar border.
This incident raises serious questions on border security:
How did such a large group cross into Indian territory, attack a village, and withdraw without being stopped?
The Government of India must investigate, bring those responsible to justice, and protect border villages and Indian citizens living along the eastern frontier.
@easterncomd@AmitShah@AmitShahOffice@Spearcorps@official_dgar You are all such weak incompetent people. Cant even effectively police / control the border. What a joke you all are.
Lasan Kuki Village, situated along the IT Road, reportedly came under attack by ZUF (Kamson) terrorists , who are described by local sources as a proxy of NSCN-IM. During the incident, one villager, identified as Haogin, was killed. @HillsJournal@NELiveTV@htTweets@EastMojo
This map shows a section of the present-day Kamjong district in a 1944 survey map. You notice Kuki and Tangkhul areas alternating. Kamjong was not a village then, just a rest house. But Chassad was a village, a Kuki village. So were Humine and Molvailup. All these villages with the exception of Chassad have been evicted by the Nagas after the Indian independence.
I recently learnt that Grihang was also a Kuki village. It apparently got evicted in the 1960s. Then MLA (now CM) Khemchand Singh went to visit it in December last year, to greet the GPRN's[*] governor of the Tangkhul region. He also stopped in Litan and Chassad along the way. Evidently GPRN's blessings were necessary for his bid to become the CM.
To the south of there, you see the village of Choro, which was also a Kuki village. Called Choro Khullen in 1991, it had a population of 221 in the census. It got evicted during that decade. The Tangkhuls took it over and renamed it Zingshophai Choro. (I don't know what the point is. Zingshophai is as much a Kuki name as Choro is.)
Not being satisfied with the hilltop location there, they moved the village wholesale to the Burmese side of the border, claiming that that land was their "ancestral land". KNA-Burma apparently burned a part of the village recently. Then they complained that KNA-B carried out a "cross-border attack". KNA-B denied that they crossed the border. They really didn't. You did, dear Tangkhuls!
Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, the former Naga MP, says in an interview to the Hindustan Times, that the Kukis "attack vulnerable areas" and "expand their territories". So, all these Kukis, who have been driven out of the Ukhrul district and reduced to 5% of the population, are going to attack the remaining 90% Nagas? Whom are you kidding, Dr. Lorho?
[*] GPRN stands for the Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim. It is a parellel government that the Nagas run within their inhabited areas. Yes, it is against the Indian constitution. But this is Manipur!
The real problem with Tangkhul politics is the constant identity juggling. One day it’s Naga nationalism, the next day it’s Meitei Meira Paibi activism. At some point, pick a lane and stand by it. Dignity comes from consistency, not from trying to enjoy the advantages of every political identity available. People can see the contradictions, even if the politicians pretend they don’t exist. Perhaps that’s why leaders like Dr. S. C. Jamir have been critical of Tangkhul politics over the years.

📹 Video from Ukhrul, a Tangkhul-dominated area, claims Kukis are being deleted from the SIR list without any due process 📷
All BLOs are Tangkhuls.
Kukis make up less than 7% of the combined population of Ukhrul & Kamjong districts 📊
If anyone were to manipulate the SIR process, the Tangkhuls are clearly well positioned — they control all BLOs and the district headquarters 🏛️

@chinkukimizogin This was still only the warm-up. Much more severe displacement occurred in 1990s, with 360 villages uprooted and 100,000 people displaced.
Loibol Khullen is an old village. It was listed in the 1947 Hills People's Regulation as a Kuki village, a small village with only 13 houses. And it is still small, with only 22 houses in 2011.
It is high up on the Loiching hill, where even any farmland would be on short supply. It is isolated, with no other villages around. It is a threat to no one. It has disputes with no one. It has never even appeared in the news till 2024.
The only reason to attack it was that it happens to have a road from NH-37 at Tupul, and there would be no one to protect it. This was a targeted attack, a shamless hate crime, killing three people in sleep including a pregnant woman.
Even more shamelessly, the Rongmei Naga Council of Manipur (RNCM) claims that "Kuki militants" had attacked it. And worse, Ukhrul Times finds it to print this nonsense.

Irony died a hundred deaths.
Check out the difference!
This violates the law & harms the reputation of all media outlets, which is offensive to all media workers!
The relevant authorities must monitor this situation & take appropriate action against Tangkhul's fraudulent editor.

📢 Urgent:
A video shows a man brandishing a knife and threatening to “butcher” the entire Kuki community in defence of the NSCN-IM and ZUF-K attack on Loibol village, which led to the killing of 3 civilians. This is criminal intimidation. Immediate action needed.
@Cyberdost
They are not the voice of the real Naga community. These activities appear to be driven by NSCN-IM-linked elements for their own agenda. All Nagas are not like this - the Naga people are an important part of India’s unity, culture, and diversity. #Nagaland#Naga#Army
Kuki SoO group KNF condemns the recent killing of 3 Kuki civilians and false allegations against the KNF for confronting its community. They urge the media house to avoid propaganda without concrete evidence

Kuki Inpi Manipur issues strong rejoinder to NSCN-IM!
We categorically reject their denial & evasion. Our statement is rooted in facts — documented collusion, attacks on Kuki villages, and genocidal rhetoric.
We respect genuine self-determination but will NOT tolerate the killing & displacement of our people.
Kukis stand united: Peace with honour, but ready to defend our lives, lands & dignity.

🚨 Manipur Govt's shameful DOUBLE STANDARDS exposed!
When a goods convoy defying shutdown calls was attacked on May 29, Manipur Police immediately named & blamed "armed Kuki militants" in their official post.
But when NSCN-IM & ZUF-Kamson butchers slaughtered 3 innocent Kuki civilians (a couple + another) in Loibol Khullen village today, torched 7 homes — the CM's Press Release and Police stay completely SILENT on the perpetrators.
Only "unidentified gunmen" & weak generic condemnation. Why this blatant bias?
Why protect Meitei-Naga militants while demonizing Kukis at every opportunity?
Enough of this selective outrage and shielding!
Justice for Kuki victims NOW or admit you're openly favouring your favourites.
@manipur_police We know you are shameless but still, shame on you.
@KonthoujamG Did you enjoy your trip to Burma at Wanglee? Visiting that illegal trading center by encroaching on Burmese lands?
@YKhemchandSingh Enjoy while you still can.

Three Kuki civilians including a women of Loibol Khullen killed by Naga Militants in Kangpokpi District of Manipur today morning at 4 AM.
Echoing a dark past when inter-tribal conflicts were marked by brutal reprisals and the glorification of violence. Notably, both communities involved in this incident are Christian, underscoring that the conflict is fundamentally ethnic and tribal in nature rather than religious.
