Mid-tier prices nearly tie ($249 vs $249.95/mo).

If you think "Ahrefs vs Semrush" has one winner, you're asking the wrong question.
It's about your job, not the logo:
Ahrefs = the backlink specialist (largest & most accurate index, easier to learn).
Semrush = the 50-tool all-in-one suite for SEO + PPC + social.
I paid for Semrush for 30 days after Adobe's $1.9B buyout. Two things surprised me
The 280B keyword index is real — it surfaced long-tail terms my old tool missed entirely.
AI Visibility tracked my brand mentions inside ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity.
First SEO tool to give me LLM coverage.
Not everything's great: content tools sit behind a $249.95 tier, entry plans are single-seat, and the audit volume is overwhelming.

Runway vs Pika: I tested both 30 days. Ratings are close (4.7 vs 4.4) — use cases aren't.
Runway = cinematic (Motion Brush, film quality), ~$28/mo, $336/yr.
Pika = fast + free plan, $10/mo, $120/yr. ~1/3 the cost.
Pick for your workflow, not the rating.
I made 50+ AI videos with Runway in 30 days. The quality is real — Gen-4 output is a tier above Pika.
But the "$15/mo" is marketing. Real entry is $28 (Pro): 625 credits (~100 clips) burn fast on Standard.
• Writesonic = SEO/budget, best free plan (10K words)
None produces publish-ready content. Gap vs ChatGPT is tiny in 2026.

I tested Jasper, https://t.co/YncjNJ7oly, and Writesonic for 6 months. They're built for different jobs:
• Jasper = marketing teams (brand voice), $49/mo • https://t.co/YncjNJ7oly = sales teams (cold email), but 1.8/5 Trustpilot •
https://t.co/YncjNJ7oly: 4.5/5 on G2, 1.8/5 on Trustpilot.
The sales workflows are genuinely great. The billing is a minefield (5-day refund window, charges after cancellation).
Also: the $49 plan doesn't include the workflow builder. That's $249/mo.
60% of SaaS founders calculate CAC wrong.
They count only ad spend. Real fully-loaded CAC is 40-60% higher (tools, content, sales comp).
And the $205 average? Useless. PLG = $85, B2B = $341. Compare to your segment.
The real insight: expansion CAC = $0.80/$1 ARR vs new-logo = $1.63. Shift 15% of S&M to expansion and shorten payback by 2-3 months.

#SaaS#UnitEconomics#CACPayback#Bootstrapped
The 16-month SaaS CAC payback median is almost useless.
It blends PLG (10mo), mid-market (14-18mo), and enterprise (18-24mo). Compare to your GTM peer group, not the average.
Your LTV:CAC ratio is probably 20-67% too high.
At 60% gross margin, simple revenue LTV overstates by 67%. The correct formula uses gross-profit LTV: (ARPU × Gross Margin %) ÷ Churn.
Most companies also exclude sales salaries from CAC, understating it by 30-60%.
The "3:1 LTV:CAC rule" is a lie.
It's a historical viability floor from 2012, not the current median. Actual median for private B2B SaaS is 4.1x (Aleph × Benchmarkit 2026, N=146).
And if you calculate LTV using revenue instead of gross profit, your ratio is 20-40% too high.
