@BlueCaelusRose I mean that is definitely the intent. He’s ineffectual and spends a lot of his time as a ruler trying to please people because he wants to be better than Mr. Evil Murder Cauldron.
@krmlyoyo Ignoring all the people just saying Dietrich’s hot, what Lyrah cared about was that he was an Anomaly. She falls in love with him because he isn’t manipulable or weak like other humans, and Lyrah finds that uniqueness impossible to ignore. He’s the one thing she can’t just take.
@Kempfnna I’m going to be honest I keep seeing Cataphract’s abysmal growths and avoiding it. It doesn’t seem like a bad class in terms of stats and Armored move is pretty amazing with it, but I’m also quite happy to use my Ornius time to jump into Wyvern pretty regularly.
@Red_Mage23 Used him on Theodora as a Charioteer, he’s really strong. He also has enough bulk to not fall over and die. I don’t remember if his DEX is salvageable, but he is standout quality in Charioteer.
@tozzeh Gauntlets are generally meant to be above average thanks to low access, but the main limiting factor on the Circles I’ve found is their low base hit.
@RadiantBlazeVA@MortalXpert@Forgot2Heal The game definitely has strategic hills and valleys, but there’s still plenty of room for legitimate skill expression both in class choice and circumstances.
@RadiantBlazeVA@MortalXpert@Forgot2Heal Look, boxing in archers to feed Amelia was funny and all, but having there be more than one way to feed EXP to projects is a good thing in my books. Second dungeon chests largely replaced map chests, which while in some maps are used well, were often just a time sink at map’s end
@Jesisodwakus People are being a tad hasty but as a semi-regular viewer of some of her content, the QC is really inconsistent. Her complaints on Cai route were pretty sweeping but that means there’s also a lot of mistakes and overgeneralizations that weaken the point.
@Whineymagician5@Forgot2Heal Gonna be honest, my Peter and Tobias just turned out really good already and I didn’t get a chance to use Ursula meaningfully. Combat arts are really good and I don’t mean to imply they’re ass, but I’ve often found that good weapons like Da Minas do more than the arts themselves.
@coliflowerz@MortalXpert@Forgot2Heal That’s fair. I’ll probably only replay the game any time soon if Maddening comes out, and probably will play all the DLC off of an existing save.
@Whineymagician5@Forgot2Heal Some are really good in a vacuum, but on hard mode I’m not finding it particularly difficult to handle enemies. Maddening will come out eventually and Smithing stones may become a thing to tightly track them, but most other smithing resources are harder to sustain.
@coliflowerz@MortalXpert@Forgot2Heal They’re definitely more well integrated in Echoes, but I still think they’ve evolved well into FW. Also going into later routes knowing you are hunting for specific goodies in them before you probably ought to is quite fun, IMO.
@coliflowerz@MortalXpert@Forgot2Heal I like them specifically for training underleveled units, but Clashes don’t add too much, I’ll agree. Still better than Echoes dungeon fights though, and dungeon crawling is pretty neat itself.
@Whineymagician5@Forgot2Heal They really aren’t *that* good, at the very least in part 1. They can make you reach 1 round thresholds, but you won’t be needing to repair weapons often, especially if you’re buying 2nd or 3rd copies from overworld shops.
@Whineymagician5@Forgot2Heal The Orchel paralogue is deeply embarrassing in that regard, but I do still stand by my statement that the main benefits of villages (conveying minor worldbuilding) is translated sufficiently into FW.
@Forgot2Heal The literal only way you are running out of Smithing stones is if you’re ditching the legions of loot and ability to train underleveled units from Dungeons. Also villages were literally just chests. They’re the same mechanic. There are better mechanics to complain about losing.
@EtherealMist124 I mean it’s the difference of quality and length. Lots of AAA slop is really long but low on content, lots of really good narrative heavy games are short but have really high quality. Personally I’m like 170 hrs into FW and feel like it’s not perfect, but the writing is great.
@JosephAGamer Fates supports were oftentimes extremely trite, overwhelmingly to the end of providing S supports (even with characters who are canon minors), and constantly underserved same sex supports for the aforementioned S support system. It was mechanically neat, but narratively awful.
