@EtherealMist124 I mean it’s the difference of quality and length. Lots of AAA slop is really long but low on content, lots of really good narrative heavy games are short but have really high quality. Personally I’m like 170 hrs into FW and feel like it’s not perfect, but the writing is great.

@JosephAGamer Fates supports were oftentimes extremely trite, overwhelmingly to the end of providing S supports (even with characters who are canon minors), and constantly underserved same sex supports for the aforementioned S support system. It was mechanically neat, but narratively awful.

@cielle_amour It’s also doing some interplay with FW’s heavy theme of abusive dynamics in a convoluted way. They definitely do overplay the “oh you must actually love him” line, but the insistence is to show just how messy and ill-placed her feelings on Bertrand are.

@cielle_amour Her warped obsession and people’s insistence on seeing it as love is commentary on how people like Cohen’s obsession with art is misconstrued to make it more palatable and not consider it as the suicidal self destruction it is.

@PK__Butter @stasiscommand I mean he didn’t come to Cydonia knowing about the plan. Him being a patsy was openly stated to be the case, and were told Guillermo trusted Bertrand enough to request he save his daughter from the massacre. Bertrand is made a clear victim of the Cydonia conspiracy.

@mdtironmonger She’s noticeably worse off route but it gives you a chance to round her stats out a bit. Also being able to build mount support in Cai route is quite nice for a lot of units.

@mdtironmonger Though this ignores units who don’t really need multiple routes to get sufficiently amazing like Tobias or the Flame Lords, but that’s just their base unit quality being so high that you really only need to train them once.

@mdtironmonger Immediate assumption is points for unit quality and availability, meaning a unit like Noctula who’s kinda easy to get in 3/4 routes could have more prospects than a unit like Jester. Though that would also mean sublord paralogue units are probably the worst on average.

@LokaiWanderer Leda killing/sparing Bertrand is meant to be the difference maker between her throwing herself entirely into her mission like Cohen or not. It could be good angst with a Leda whose life has been effectively ruined by that obsession, but I think that’s the best it could do.

Suki, in that moment, is reinforcing that she doesn’t give up her identity as a woman to be a warrior and that she isn’t weaker for being a woman. The episode makes it so obvious a child could get it.

@sham_exe Fates reclass system was by far the best class system in the series. Pretty rigid at a base, some characters have novel reclasses, otherwise it’s a 1/3 game commitment to get something silly spun out, keeping you from easily jumping into whatever.

@lazykatie69 I mean judging by this being the biggest FE, being a very bold direction setting wise and being a Switch 2 year 1 title, I at least don’t think they held the rest back on pure greed to sell it back. It feels more like they just needed proof the game was worth the cost financially

@Jessebelles_ @Dorriiaan I mean chipping 3-4 enemies for half can be a lot better than one-rounding one with a unit, and that’s kinda the bottom end of it. But Battalions also just get worse the more enemies you can easily clear out.
