@athenaeumbc In my experience the books that can convey deep themes simply are far better than ones that need a larger vocabulary to say the same thing.
Just saw a political ad that said something like
“my opponent says he’s going to work ‘as much as humanly possible’ - would you vote for THAT?!”
Um. Yes?
