Boyle Heights and East LA residents still feel sick months after the Lineage Fire
Residents near the warehouse report ongoing health issues as independent air quality testing detects toxic gases like ammonia.

What Bari Weiss did to the great Palestinian poet and author Refaat Alareer -- directing the IDF to murder him by deliberately and blatantly distorting his mockery of Israeli lies about Oct 7 into a celebration of the attack -- has never been fully acknowledged or confronted:
I vehemently disagree with my union and I’m disappointed in our board for supporting this “deal” which will result in less jobs and opportunity for our membership. Absolute dereliction of leadership.
This is a DEATH RATTLE for our city and for the cultural workers that power it.
We are literally *one week* from Robert Kraft kicking Macklemore out of his stadium for daring to stand with Palestine.
Now, we have caved to give TOTAL CONTROL of our cultural apparatus to David Ellison, MAGA born and bred.
It’s time to stand up for Los Angeles, stand with its workers, and stand against the criminal concentration of power that is driving us to oligarchy.
Anyone who knows anything about the history of Zionism and its relationship to fascism knows this is not a “historic turning point” but total historic continuity.
We knew in April 2024 that Israel is using AI to kill Palestinians. We know 83% of people killed in Gaza were inside their homes. We knew the technology was called “Where’s Daddy.” We knew Israel waited till “low level targets” would come home to their families & then they would bomb the house. Why is everyone acting like what is in the film Naza is some big revelation?
The savagery of what the empire—with its client Gulf dictators—did to Yemen from 2015 really boggles the mind
They purposefully starved millions of kids to within an inch of their life
Pure, undiluted evil. They failed to break Yemen tho
I was just thinking that all this AI insanity about endless, compulsive growth was a symptom of having no other vector in which to fantasize limitlessness.
I’ve never seen this before. Some weather models are forecasting dew points in the upper 70s in LA County on Wednesday, with heat indices peaking near 110°F.
Truly miserable humidity.
If dew points reach that level in DTLA, it would shatter the previous dew point record.
The Israelis destroyed a hospital in southern Lebanon today.
They’re claiming, with zero evidence as usual, that it was a Hezbollah command center.
Israel has normalized the destruction of hospitals because the world did nothing in response to Israel bombing hospitals in Gaza.
Uncivilized barbarism is the norm in 2026. Shameful.
We mourn the passing of legendary Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour (1947–2026), who has left us at the age of 79. For over five decades, Mansour did more than create art—he painted the visual soul, memory, and enduring identity of Palestine.
From his iconic, heartbreaking masterpiece Camel of Hardship (Jamal Al Mahamel)—depicting an elderly porter carrying Jerusalem on his back—to his powerful earthworks crafted from mud, straw, and henna during the First Intifada as part of the "New Visions" collective, Mansour’s brushstrokes became synonymous with sumud (steadfastness). He famously boycotted Israeli art supplies to create from the very soil of his homeland, proving that art itself is a profound form of resistance.
He didn't just capture the struggle; he preserved the dignity, folklore, traditional dress, and landscapes of a people refusing to be erased. His galleries spanned the globe, but his heart and his canvas remained forever rooted in Birzeit and Jerusalem.
Though we have lost a master storyteller, a mentor, and a cultural pillar, his legacy will live on in every stroke of Palestinian resistance art and in the hearts of all who cherish freedom and memory.
“Revolution is not only shooting, it is art.” — Sliman Mansour
Rest in eternal peace. 🤍🕊️🇵🇸
