ALERT: Florida man tries to run from a traffic stop and is chased down, his car grappled, and sent tumbling through the air.
The Hillsboro Police Department pulled over Willie Lee Gant II, 37, for multiple traffic violations.
Gant tried to run from the police but was chased down, and a deputy was able to deploy a grapple gun and stop Gant.
Gant has 21 prior arrests, including fleeing and attempting to elude, battery, leaving the scene of a crash, and more.
Sheriff Chad Chronister said, “This individual has spent years running from law enforcement, and now his luck ran out. We will keep pursuing dangerous offenders until they're off our streets for good."
Gant has been charged with criminal mischief $1,000 or more, resisting officer without violence, fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, violation of parole, and possession of cannabis.
