The elderly lady here in this clip is Rani Lakshmi Kumari Chundawat — daughter of the ruler of Deogarh State of Mewar. She was a renowned writer honoured with the Padma Shri, and also served as MP for six years.

In this clip, she is explaining how Marathas took full advantage of Mewar’s war-torn condition (as a result of resisting invaders for centuries) by raiding & pillaging its territories even more than the Mughals ever did. She further explains how the main victims of these atrocities were mostly innocent civilians & peasants — who couldn’t even afford to leave their fields out of fear of getting ravaged by Maratha raiders, who didn’t even spare fodder!

This isn’t just the story of Mewar, but that of every Hindu territory subjected to Maratha depredations — from Gujarat & Rajasthan in the West to Orissa & Bengal in the East, even all the way up till Karnataka & Tamil-Nadu in the South. Contemporary accounts attest how Maratha raiders followed a 𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙-𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 of destroying crops & livestock, but retreating (using swift ponies) the moment any native army arrived at scene to fight them.

And today, descendants of those scoundrels take pride in it, by celebrating the misery of innocent Hindus as some sort of an achievement. Never forget that these are the same people who brag about being 𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙪-𝘿𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙧𝙖𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙨 24/7 on social media.

The RSS builds its pride & concept of India from its Maratha Brahmin pride.

Why RSS builds Indian History from Marathas? 

Chhatrapati Shivaji appointed many Brahmins in his famous Ashta Pradhan council. After Shivaji, during Chhatrapati Shahu rule, a Chitpavan Brahmin named Balaji Vishwanath appointed as his Peshwa. Due to Balaji's influence, his Son and Grand Son held higher positions in Maratha kingdom.

Chitbavan Brahmins took control of Maratha kingdom after ChatrapathiShahu. Over time, the Chhatrapatis (descendants of Shivaji) became mere figureheads confined to the palace at Satara, while the Brahmin Peshwas ruled the empire from Shaniwar Wada in Pune. This transformed the Maratha state into a centralized regime heavily dominated by Brahmin elites. 

How was 'Chhatrapati Shivaji' treated? Why their rule was controlled by Brahmins after his death? 

Marathi Brahmins and rival Marathanoble families (the Deshmukhs) technically classified Shivaji's family as belonging to the Shudra (peasant/agricultural) varna. They never approved Shivaji of nobility and demanded randsom which eventually made shivaji to the extend of bankruptcy. Peswas in later years, went onto loot Sringeri Sharada Peetham (Mutt) and killed Hindu priests of the mutt. Hindu swami fled to Tipu Sultan (a Muslim ruler) for help. Tipu treated the monastery with great reverence, funding its restoration and condemning Maratha raid.

The Marathi scholar Govind Pansare who exposed this, was murdered by RSS goons in 2015.

Who is RSS & why was it founded?

The RSS was founded by Three Brahmins & Hindu Magasabha was Founded by Savarkar who was Chithbavan Brahmin. They worked together to establish Brahmin rule in India. Since Shivaji established Brahmin dominated advisory council, they put Shivaji as mask & work aggressively to control Power just like Balaji Viswanath.

How did Marathas killed South Indian Freedom struggle against British?

Remember, Marathas never ruled whole of India. They collaborated with British to annihilate Tipu Sultan. Tipu sultan, in South, formed a formidable alliance against British. Marudu brothers, Deeran Cinnamalai, Kerala Varman, Gopal Naicker, Ramnad-Manapparai-Aravakurichi-Tirunelveli cheiftans. They formed a joint force to annihilate British in Kerala, Konkan, Tamilnadu, Karnataka. Maratha forces didnt joined with revolutionary coalition. Instead they joined with British and waged war that ended Tipu sultan. This eventually resulted in fall of Marudu brothers, Deeran Chinnamalai and other Poligar Revolt colloborations. Tanjore maratha ruler handed over Marudu brother's emissary to British who came to request to help the war against British. Peswas helped British to kill south Indian rebellion.
South Indians should never-ever forget this treachery.

Once British eliminated their major enemy Tipu sultan, they turned against Marathas & finished them. Delhi fall shortly afterwards.

Why RSS project Maratha-Peswa rule as Golden period?

After Shivaji', Chithbhavan Brahmins took control of Maratha kingdom. They sidelined Shivaji's descendents & heavily funded Hindu religious institutions.
They institutionalized Ramana system, an annual gathering where thousands of priests were distributed monetary rewards.

How did Marathas Fall?

Brahmin monopoly over central power deeply angered traditional Maratha warrior clans (like the Scindias, Holkars, Bhonsles, and Gaekwads). When the British attacked, these factions often failed to support Brahmin Peshwa. During the late Peshwa period, particularly under Peshwa Baji Rao II, orthodox caste rules became rigidly enforced. This alienated lower-caste groups. A notable historical consequence of this social friction occurred at the Battle of Bhima Koregaon (1818), where Dalit Mahar soldiers fought alongside the British East India Company to overthrow the army of the Peshwa.

According to Max Duncker, there was no room for scientific inquiry or rationalism in Brahmanical philosophy.

In the Brahmanical view, natural phenomena did not operate according to independent laws, nor were they regarded as possessing an autonomous existence.

The Brahmins subjected natural phenomena to supernatural explanations, just as they subjected human beings and their destinies to divine explanations.

Nature and human beings were not understood as independent entities operating according to their own consistent and definite principles. Consequently, neither the physical world nor human society was regarded as an independent subject of systematic and scientific investigation.

When natural phenomena were explained primarily through divine intervention rather than through their identifiable causes, the systematic study of nature was neglected.

Brahmanical philosophy maintained that natural phenomena could be influenced through religious rituals, sacrifices, and religious prescriptions and penalties.

In Brahmanical philosophy, there was no real place for the study of human actions, natural facts, history, or the natural sciences.

Theology and divine matters were regarded as the only possible subjects of study.
