Sense I'm getting from convos is that fate of congestion pricing hangs on the thread of:
- Albany refusing to pass any alternate $$$ source;
- MTA board voting down a pause or refusing to even take it up as a vote.
Both situations then leave Hochul in a political corner.
With #CongestionPricing in the headlines in NYC, it’s crucial to understand its implications. This @NYTransitMuseum panel discussion features experts Danna Dennis from the @RidersAlliance, @SlevinKate from the @RegionalPlan Association; and @EliassonJonas from the Swedish National Transport Administration in conversation with Transportation Reporter @JMartinezNYC from @THECITYNY. Watch now for a comprehensive look at how congestion pricing could alleviate traffic, enhance air quality, and fund critical transit improvements: https://t.co/Hbljcap3zs.
@LauraAGillen Hey Laura,
Fellow Hempsteader and staff member of Hofstra. 5% of commuters to NYC drive cars. Get lost with this nonsense. It is good for the environment and will make the city a better place for those people who work there and can afford it anyways. Take the train.
I agree. Our transit system serves twelve New York counties and two other states. It’s completely unacceptable for the burden of yet another payroll tax increase to be raised on NYC small businesses to fund regional transit projects. We need #CongestionPricingNow.
‼️EMORY COPS ATTACK STUDENT PROTESTORS‼️
Today at Emory University, students gathered for a peaceful encampment protest on the campus quad to call for an end to Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.
In response, Emory called in Georgia State Patrol to brutalize them.
