It's been two weeks since Elon Men's Basketball's season ended, so let's take a way-too-early look at what the Phoenix might look like next year:

Billy Taylor got the Elon job. Billy is a 10 out of 10 person and coach. And his mustache deserves recognition as well.

Okay but are we putting the same efforts toward finding a basketball coach?

[Nick Roby @nick_j_roby]

Manning was my top choice for the Elon HC opening. He knows how to recruit at an academic institution & what he did this year at MD was impressive. Miss by Dave Blank to not pursue. We spend $50+M on facilities but cut corners elsewhere. Are we serious about winning?@ElonPhoenix

[Jeff Goodman @GoodmanHoops]

Louisville coach Kenny Payne will hire Danny Manning as an assistant coach, source told @Stadium.

Manning joins Nolan Smith. Payne has one more assistant spot to fill.

[Michael O'Brien @michaelsobrien]

The college coaching carousel can be cruel to a teen-aged kid.

Glenbrook South's Nick Martinelli was "hurt a ton" when Elon coach Mike Schrage left for Duke, but the newly available star's recruitment is now surging.

@joehoopsreport has the story:

[Nick Roby @nick_j_roby]

It’s going to be a complete rebuild at Elon. All starters are in the portal & all incoming recruits have decommitted. Extremely disappointing! It’s going to take a well known High Major HC to save this, not someone that the average person has to Google. Time to spend $ Elon.

[Jeff Goodman @GoodmanHoops]

Elon head coach Mike Schrage has stepped down and will join Jon Scheyer’s staff at Duke.
