There were 12v DC to 240v AC Convertors installed for the equipment that ran off 240v mains.

The home owner pays to have the kerb lowered.
However, the lowered kerb remains the property of the original owner, e.g. the local council, and not the homeowner who paid for it.
@cgallaty The notch ensures that only a 15 amp mains / kettle cable can be connected.
However, a 13 amp cable shouldn't be necessary for something that only draws a few amps; if that.
So, the notch isn't required.

A landowner has erected a wooden fence to stop walkers using the public footpath that goes across their land.
It is the public footpath heading north from Hammonds Corner.
Walkers are now forced to cross a ditch to the east of the footpath and walk around the field.

Turn the stop cock off under the sink and see if you water meter out in the road is still moving. If so, the leak is between there and the stop cock.
Check for a leaking garden tap, water over flow pipes from the house, etc.
