My time as British Ambassador in Kosovo has come to an end. The warm welcome of the Kosovan people to a British Ambassador has made working and living here unlike any other posting I have done. This is a special place that deserves success.

The President shared her advice with the young women and we discussed their ideas for improving gender equality in Kosovo. This remains a challenge for both our nations, but also an area where we can learn from one another, building on a special relationship. 2/2

Today I held my farewell call with PM @albinkurti. We talked about the importance of economic development in 🇽🇰, including strengthening education and healthcare and improving the business environment. And we celebrated the special and enduring friendship between 🇽🇰 and the 🇬🇧.

My farewell call on Speaker @KonjufcaGlauk was an open &good-humoured discussion. Among other topics we discussed the CBK regulation &my view that this is an issue that should be considered in terms of good governance &community relations rather than solely one of sovereignty.

This afternoon I held my farewell meeting with DPM Bislimi. We discussed recent events, including the UK’s view that enforcement of the CBK’s new regulation on cash operations requires a transition period to enable a full information campaign to take place 1/2
I am very grateful for all of the kind messages I have recieved following the news of His Majesty The King’s diagnosis. I know that Kosovo is joining us all in wishing him a speedy recovery.
