Tell me, why is the GOP, the so-called "party of the working class," so comfortable in voting for tax breaks for the ultra-rich, but when it comes to legislation which addresses the long-neglected needs of the poor and working class of this country, they are nowhere to be found?
I find it interesting that for my Republican colleagues, when it comes to tax breaks for the rich and corporations — that's okay. But when you demand that we invest in the working families of this country, well, suddenly the sky is falling!
I am a little tired of that hypocrisy.
After Trump's so-called "big, beautiful" tax cut, 82 ultra-wealthy households saved more than $1 BILLION on their tax bills. Absurd.
It's time we make sure our economy works for the working people of this country, not just a handful of people at the top. https://t.co/L3pvZk3yPD
California is burning. Oregon is burning. Greece is burning. There is historic drought hitting virtually every country on the planet.
NEWSFLASH! Climate change is real! And yeah, the United States has got to get its act together and lead on addressing the climate crisis.
to all courageous Republicans calling for Cuomo to resign: where were you when your own party was installing a Supreme Court Justice who was so blackout drunk all the way through prep school and college that he has no idea how many women he assaulted
Unvaccinated people account for virtually all COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. right now. Get vaccinated. Urge your family members, your friends, and your neighbors to get vaccinated.
What would it mean for you and your family if we took on the pharmaceutical industry's greed and dramatically lowered the cost of prescription drugs in this country?
Here is what the modern Republican Party is all about: cult-like devotion to Trump, big lies and conspiracy theories, voter suppression, climate denial and anti-science vaccine rejection. For the sake of our kids and future generations, they cannot be allowed to prevail.
Here on Earth, in the richest country on the planet, half our people live paycheck to paycheck, people are struggling to feed themselves, struggling to see a doctor — but hey, the richest guys in the world are off in outer space!
Yes. It's time to tax the billionaires.
Donald Trump's tax bill in 2017: $750
Elon Musk's tax bill in 2018: $0
Amazon's tax bill in 2018: $0
Average American's tax bill in 2017: $12,200
We've got a tax code that is rigged in favor of the rich and large corporations. The time for them to pay their fair share is NOW.
I happen to believe in the radical notion that you should be able to grow old and hear the people around you, to keep teeth in your mouth, and to see the world around you. Let's expand Medicare to cover hearing aids, dental, and eyeglasses.
I do not think it is too radical an idea to say that keeping teeth in your mouth should not be a luxury. Medicare must be expanded to include dental care, eyeglasses, and hearing aids.
Here is a list of every single Republican who had the guts to vote in support of the American Rescue Plan:
There aren't any. We did it alone.
Meanwhile, how many Republican senators voted for Trump's $1.9 trillion tax giveaway to the rich? 51! Pathetic.
