βοΈ San Diego!
Glad I got through my first @EsriUC. It was great meeting new pros, seeing familiar faces, being introduced to new vendors, and learning new skills.
Iβm excited to head home and sleep for the next 24 hours or so π₯±
Thanks @Esri for the experience.
#EsriUC2023
Last night was the 10th annual IMAGIN meetup at the @EsriUC ! Over 50 people registered to hang out with colleagues from around their home state. We even got appearances from
@pokateo_maps@John_M_Nelson &
@XenonGT among others!
If you were there, tag yourself in the comments!
@pokateo_maps Electric, Gas, and Telecomm SIG, Seiler Geospatial, and IMAGIN. Too many to try and go to in one night, so weβll see what I actually make it to π«
At the #EsriUC2023 a few days early to attend the Geospatial Deep Learning Seminar. Looking forward to deploying this tech at my company to support ops, engineering, and everything in between. And we have an awesome mix in this session of industries from all over the world.
One of my favorite times of the year: @GIS_MiCAMP Board of Directors Retreat! Great opportunity to meet and plan for the annual fall conference all day. Some great discussions and exciting topics to look forward to in October.
Shoutout to @Delta for being 10/10. My PSP-ATL βοΈ was delayed (it happens) and I wasnβt going to make my connection, so they preemptively offered me a hotel, food, transport, and FF Miles b4 I even landed for the inconvenience. Was a great experience + I got another day of vacay.
Just arrived in @PalmSpringsCA for the @Esri Dev Summit and had to swing by @LaQuintaBrewing for a pint while I wait for hotel check-in. The weather (and beer) is π compared to the 32Β°F and snow in MI. Pumped for a exciting week ahead. Whereβs the rest of the #GIS devs at? π»
@pokateo_ Previously Meteorology/Climatology, County Govβt (Land Desc.), City Govβt (primarily Public Works but also all other aspects), and now Utility and Telecomm (Fiber Optic Internet, Telephone, Electric Distro, & Propane) with a focus on analytics and IT.
@ZombieTrev5k Iβm glad it was brought to their attention. Walking alone to my hotel south of the convention center was always pretty nerve-racking. The area near the mall was sketchy even during daylight hours. Phoenix was better and Boston was excellent in comparison.
Day 2 of #AMS2023 was off to a rocky start with a impromptu fire drill, but this session on open data ft. #ECMWF, @Microsoft#PlanetaryComputer, etc is terrific! Great to see what used to be cumbersome work to use is becoming more accessible via cloud-based storage and APIs.
Should note that this is only part of the CMU present here. Several alum arrived this morning and will be presenting on all sorts of subjects in talks throughout the week.
Excited to finally be here in Denver for @ametsoc#AMS2023 kicking it off with the Presidential Forum!
Overall theme is βData: Driving Science. Informing Decisions. Enriching Humanity.β Seeing my job revolves around data, this is going to be exciting.
