Up & down day in N. Norfolk y'day with Reg Land. Great views of the male Eastern Black Redstart at Sheringham, close views of 2 Velvets off Kelling, dipped on the Laplands and Stiffkey Glossy Ibises but a close, immature male Hen Harrier at the roost was a great end to the day.
23,000. That's how many deaths can be blamed on Boris Johnson's chaotic Covid decisions and delays. Enough is enough, he must be stripped of his annual £115,000 handout. Sign the petition today: https://t.co/BpmIjd3BoJ
5 Firecrests in the woods behind Titchwell VC in the morning and excellent views of the Am. Golden Plover in the afternoon roosting with GPs right near the main path. Good job I went yesterday and not today!
Share this if you want the House of Lords to SAVE OUR SWIFTS. Today Parliamentary peers will vote for or against swift bricks. Labour Peers will be whipped to vote NO, Lib Dem’s YES, & Tories can choose. 🤷♀️ COME ON THE LORDS!!!!!!!
@Jake_Gearty I like the 507 Black Kites. Diane is on 45 Tiger sightings. Saw them in Corbett and Kanha this year. The latter was where we saw them first in 2019.
I’ve just signed a 38 Degrees petition to say no to £20 fees for GP appointments - our health service must stay free to access! Will you add your name? https://t.co/GKA7dBxC8V
Yesterday, at last, an adult Roseate Tern came close enough to South Hide @RSPBMinsmere for a decent shot, initially within the Sandwich Tern flock and then it walked out to be fully visible
A productive, although wet, day in the Brecks with 2 broods of Mandarin Duck with 14 (apparently the upper limit although egg dumping occurs) very young ducklings and then this brood of 7 larger ducklings. Also singing Tree Pipit and Yellowhammer.
There's nothing quite like being stared at by a Shoebill or a young Chimp or ignored by a Siverback Gorilla. From our recent trip to Uganda with Arctic Tern Expeditions & Great Lakes Safaris, Uganda
Hawk Owl removing the head of a Bank Vole and eating it.
I have noted that (this) Hawk Owl likes to eat the head first, then the entrails before swallowing the rest.
Video is at half speed.
