Conservative Councillor. Promoted by Sarah Pugh on behalf of the West Suffolk Conservative Association, both of The Conservative Office, Moulton Road, Newmarket
At PMQs just now Starmer refused to rule out tax rises to fund defence. But as @KemiBadenoch just said, this is because he is too weak to do what everyone knows has to be done - cut welfare to fund Defence.
‘People have been shouting this from the rafters, of course it is an issue!’
@MichelleDewbs praises Jonathan Hall KC, the head of an anti-terrorism watchdog for saying that migration is a national security issue.
Labour: We can’t afford to keep the triple lock pension
Labour: But we can afford to give every year..
£15.2 billion in Foreign Aid
£5 billion for illegal immigration
£40 million to protect Mosques
£ 2 billion to help Foreign Climate Aid
£1 billion to Aid the war in Ukraine
£500 million to France to stop the boats
Have I’ve missed anything …
Kemi Badenoch: “I asked him if he would rule out tax rises. He did not rule out raising taxes, so tax rises are coming.”
As always with Labour, more tax rises on pensioners and hard working people, to pay for more benefit handouts.
Labour are a disgrace. #PMQs
Chief Treasury Secretary Lucy Rigby has defended the Government’s decision to not reduce interest rates on student loans, saying the money is being used to fund benefit schemes including ‘free breakfast clubs’ and lifting the two child benefit cap.
Trapping graduates in a lifetime of debt in order to fund breakfasts for children whose parents should be feeding them at home is not beneficial to anyone - children, families or young adults starting out in life.
Friends of mine have been working their balls off building a dog grooming business. They’ve invested their savings into fitting out three shops and employing staff. They’ve just been told their business rates have doubled to £10K per shop. They’re now thinking about cutting their losses and shutting them down. I’ve never seen a more anti small business government.
Kemi Badenoch is acting more like a Prime Minister than Keir Starmer and any other political leader.
Serious thought, and serious plans. That speech was powerful and very robust in its message. The Conservatives are much stronger with her leadership.
Does anybody else think this is insane?
Shoplifting is up 20%.
Sexual offences are up 11%.
And yet the police are advertising for:
£75,000 'equality, diversity & human rights role'
£72,000 'senior culture lead'
£64,000 'culture and inclusion lead'
Scrap DEI. Fight crime!
'No top law firms in the UK offer internships specifically and only for working class white men and boys - there are at least 80 for ethnic minorities.'
@PatrickChristys exposes the professions in which 'anti-white racism' is preventing white working class boys from succeeding.
Good to see Kemi Badenoch in @marksandspencer today. The Tories are backing businesses and calling out Labour’s higher taxes, which are crippling growth and increasing the cost of living.
This isn’t just any leader, this is an M&S backed leader. Strong, gutsy and determined.
Wow. A billion of taxpayers money. Most of which will be frittered away and never seen again. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, US AI companies plan to invest £750 billion this year.
In 2024, Tom Kerridge was 1 of 121 business leaders included in an open letter giving their backing to Labour in the General Election ‘to achieve the UK’s full economic potential.’
In 2026, he’s the face of a ‘VAT's the problem’ campaign.
Buyer’s remorse
