Totally understandable not to pass on VAT cut to customers in my view. Temporary measure only anyway. Also should become custom to take card details/deposit when reserving - works in hotels other industries - make people think twice about not turning up.

These deals / admins involving Azzuri, Bistrot Pierre, CDG, Pizza Express, Tossed, Carluccio etc and many other smaller independent restaurants being forced to close are so sad for the sector. Good businesses in many cases now with bad balance sheets

You have to realise that legally being able to reopen is a completely different to it being economically viable/sensible. To faithfully follow all new guidance means incurring costs and reduced capacity = lower revenue.
