@hey_jess_0 @boxesofdoom Ooh, I like that. I know about giving characters Ghosts, Lies, Wants, and Needs, but hadn't considered giving them to a whole setting or community or whatever.
@JasonRainville @ElbenherzArt Haha honestly how could a person even choose a favourite. I built a (decidedly terrible) Bill the Pony commander deck because I love that art so much. But also every single piece of hers absolutely oozes whimsy, charm, and quality.
@williamapan Yes!! Between him and Tom Francis (Pentadact) I went from struggling with basic code to... well, still struggling, but loving the process and periodically succeeding.
I'll admit I'm really happy with this drawing even though there are problems with it, mostly because I drew it on the bus on the back of an index card and he still turned out looking pretty cool.
@jesserintaylor1 I love this guy!!
Out of curiosity, for things like the highlight on his eye socket nearest to us - did you use an eraser to carve out that little ridge of specular light, or did you just carefully avoid it while rendering?
@Nifflas We're all just monkeys, man. We want the other monkeys to like us. It's normal to feel bad when they don't. I get what you mean. It hurts to get slapped down when you're trying to help, and trying to de-center yourself is important, but you're allowed to feel your feelings .
@riseupcomus I think it also frees up the table to introduce some fun custom abilities that can't be found on any class list. Oh, Drock is going to spend some time in Blather Crossing to learn from the master there and can now do this cool hypnosis ability or whatever.
@riseupcomus I LOVE this. Outside of a particular flavour of fantasy D&D, I don't really want to hear bog standard class names in the fiction. I'd much rather introduce my character as "Drock, 42nd Knuckle of the Bronze Fist" or whatever. Are they a fighter? Rogue? Don't care.
@daniwithanelle I wasn't going to spend the money and my grandfather told me "you can't take the money with you when you die" and stuck it back into my hands from where I'd put it on the shelf.
@kylelatino @Eucatastrophic I think my favourite part of this breakdown is showing which parts were done in what software. Knowing how far the 3d goes and where the 2d begins isn't always clear, so this is great!
