It’s me again!
05.49 Nottm to StPancras is a blastfreezer ❄️ again this morning (all coaches this time).
Why continue to blow cold air in? Why not just switch of the ventilation i.e. ‘shut the window’? …..

@EastMidRailway Thanks. It’s understandable that the Auroras have teething problems but it seems a fairly fundamental engineering principle is missing if a system can’t be switched off e.g. like trying to fix a burst water pipe with no stop tap?

On 06.10 Nottm to StPancras in coach L. No heating but a/c on full blast ❄️. Asked to switch it off but apparently seat reservation system is linked so not possible. All of seats in coach appear as ‘Not Reserved’. Logic?

@EastMidRailway Past the last stop at Kettering now so no need for reservations and it’s daylight so presumably the lights & electrics can be switched off to stop the blastfreezer effect?

@EastMidRailway Thx. Probably worth the train teams having a standard approach to the issue (not the first time I’ve encountered it). Reservations are less critical than passenger comfort, particularly in the winter. Personally I’d rather travel in the dark than in a well lit blastfreezer.
