Cristiano Ronaldo saw the message of the Venezuelan boy who lost everything after the earthquake and he took action ❤️🩹🙏🏼
In addition to sending him words of encouragement, he invited Andrés to meet him: “I want you to attend one of my games!”.
Sending strenght and all best wishes to Andrés 💭
Venezuelans are suffering from a terrible tragedy. Neither the current government nor the White House are doing anything that installs hope, says @JPSpinetto (via @opinion) https://t.co/49dvEdn3Y1
Just hours after the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela that killed over 1,900 people, ICE attempted to deport children and families from the Dilley Trailer Prison to Venezuela. They were woken up in the middle of the night and sent to Arizona on their way to Venezuela. The families were ultimately sent back to Dilley but worry that they could be deported at any time.
It is unthinkable to send children and families, who have committed no crimes, into a country plunged into chaos by natural disaster.
Last week, 146 men, women, and children were deported back home to Venezuela hours before the earthquakes—many are suspected to have been killed. These actions are cruel and un-American. I am calling on the Trump Administration to halt all deportations to Venezuela and to shut down the Dilley Trailer Prison.
Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.
As relief efforts continue, here's an update on how the GoFundMe community is coming together to support individuals, families, and nonprofits responding on the ground.
More than $10 million has been raised on GoFundMe to support people across Caracas, La Guaira, and surrounding communities.
To make it easier for people who want to help those affected, we've created a centralized hub featuring verified fundraisers and nonprofits providing relief on the ground. We'll continue updating it as more fundraisers are verified by our Trust & Safety team: https://t.co/WzNEo1g2ja
As the scale of devastation in Venezuela becomes clearer, humanitarian needs continue to grow.
For every dollar Canadians donate to the Canadian Red Cross or the Humanitarian Coalition, Canada will match it — helping trusted partners deliver life-saving assistance to people affected by the devastating earthquakes.
Canada will continue standing with the people of Venezuela and supporting relief efforts as appropriate.

"We are definitely looking at a number that is higher than the one already reported. I can give you a proxy indicator. We are procuring, and this is something that has been agreed with the authorities here, 10,000 body bags"

🇻🇪In Venezuela, doctors have queued up to help victims of the devastating twin earthquakes, but the regime is preventing them from working, citing bureaucracy and various excuses.
The death toll from the disaster has now surpassed 1,450 people.
