🚨 UPDATE: Roc Nation has asked the New York Supreme Court to reconsider a recent determination that its insurance lawsuit against New York Marine and General Insurance Company does not qualify for the Commercial Division.

Roc Nation says it filed its request within the required 90 day period and argues that the case clearly meets the requirements. The company says the dispute involves commercial general liability insurance policies, the amount in controversy exceeds $500,000 and the policies at issue have total limits exceeding $10 million.

Why does the Commercial Division designation matter? It is specifically designed to handle complex and consequential commercial disputes, with judges who have extensive experience handling sophisticated business litigation. Roc Nation is essentially arguing that this insurance coverage dispute belongs in that specialized forum.

The interesting part is that the August 17 notification apparently determined that the case did not qualify, but this letter does not explain why. It only identifies NYCRR 202.70(d)(1) as the basis for the determination. Roc Nation is now arguing that the decision was incorrect and pointing to the commercial nature of the case, the amount at stake and the type of insurance dispute involved.

The letter does not tell us exactly why the case was initially denied Commercial Division assignment. That would require seeing the August 17 determination itself.

Roc Nation is asking Judge Suzanne Adams to reconsider the determination and transfer the case to the Commercial Division.

🚨 ROC NATION RECEIVES EXPLOSIVE FEDERAL LAWSUIT

Roc Nation is facing serious allegations after former DRNX Water CEO Amy Huffman filed an 87-page federal lawsuit accusing the company and others of allowing an allegedly toxic workplace situation to spiral into retaliation, discrimination, harassment and reputational damage.

And according to Huffman, Roc Nation wasn’t simply standing on the sidelines.

She alleges that after bringing concerns about Jermaine Jackson’s behavior directly to Roc Nation executives, the company failed to protect her and instead informed Jackson about her complaints — allegedly giving the very person she complained about knowledge of what she had reported.

Huffman claims what followed was retaliation.

She alleges her authority as CEO was gradually taken away, she was shut out of meetings, stripped of benefits and eventually stopped receiving the salary funded by Roc Nation — all while allegedly never resigning and never being formally terminated.

The lawsuit paints an especially troubling picture of what Roc Nation leadership allegedly already knew. Huffman claims Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez previously told her that Jackson “needed to be managed,” raising questions about whether company leadership was already aware there were concerns surrounding his conduct.

Huffman also accuses Jackson of making damaging allegations involving her finances, professional relationships and sexual conduct and even allegedly contacting her husband.

Now she wants a jury to hear the case.

Huffman is seeking damages, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees and additional relief.

🚨 MAJOR LAWSUIT: Amy Huffman, the former CEO of DRNX Water, has filed an 87 page federal lawsuit against Roc Nation, DRNX Water and others, alleging sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, defamation and interference with her employment.

Huffman alleges she was recruited by Roc Nation to serve as CEO and that Roc Nation exercised significant control over DRNX Water, including her compensation, financing and major business decisions. She also identifies Desiree Perez as the Roc Nation executive who signed the DRNX agreement on the company’s behalf.

Interestingly, Huffman alleges that after she was hired, during a spring 2025 meeting with Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, Perez told her that Jermaine Jackson “needed to be managed.”

According to Huffman, the dispute began after she refused to defer to Jackson, whom she says did not have authority to fire her but nevertheless began interfering with her role as CEO. She alleges Jackson escalated the conflict into a campaign of sexualized harassment, false accusations and attempts to damage her professional reputation.

Huffman further alleges that Jackson contacted her husband in January 2026 and made a series of accusations about her alleged sexual conduct, professional relationships, financial management and competence. She says Jackson also made similar allegations to others and claimed to have video evidence supporting them.

Huffman says she reported Jackson’s conduct to Roc Nation executives and requested intervention. Instead, she alleges Roc Nation failed to properly investigate, informed Jackson about her complaints and allowed the retaliation to continue.

She alleges that after making her complaints, she was gradually stripped of her authority, excluded from meetings and business communications, had her benefits terminated and ultimately stopped receiving her Roc Nation funded salary. She says she was never formally fired or resigned.

The complaint also references recorded conversations that Huffman says captured Jackson repeating allegations about her, discussing supposed evidence and making statements concerning her employment.

Huffman is bringing multiple claims, including Title VII and New York discrimination and retaliation claims, defamation, intentional interference with contractual relations and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

She is seeking damages for lost wages and benefits, damage to her professional reputation and career, emotional distress and other losses, as well as punitive damages, attorney fees and injunctive relief.

Huffman is demanding a jury trial.
