People confused by the ruling are usually ignoring this side of it. On a space last night, a lawyer said the reason the decision is flawed is because everyone knows people only buy Xrp because of what they expect from Ripple. When asked if he read any of the 15 amicus briefs that said otherwise, he said no, but dismissed them because “everyone knows” it’s about Ripple. He used the space as an example, saying everyone was only excited because the price would go up. But there’s more to the XRPL than Ripple. We’re celebrating the fact that the token & therefore ledger itself wasn’t nuked and the projects building on the ledger can live another day, without the foot on their throat that was the SEC lawsuit and US liquidity being cut off. Ripple was fighting for themselves, but also the ledger’s future so therefore we’re obviously happy it went well.
