@davidfowl While I love Python in general, it's pkg mgmt is madness. 5 different pkg mgrs where each has different dep lists and lockfiles. Plus different ways of managing a virtual environment. If this ain't ridiculous enough, the pypi name also doesn't match the import name. ๐ญ
@rakyll I have been playing with a similar idea. In my my case, I'd love to have a library that implements a distributed lock, a key value store or similar, but in such a way that you as an infrastructure provider can swap the implementing technology at runtime.
What were you thinking?
@ibuildthecloud Relatable. I occasionally smile when thinking how my teacher in literature class compared my short story to an instruction to build bridges, attesting little creativity. Yet, here I am bringing structure to things in a creative way. Maybe I didn't understand the hint at the time.
@ibuildthecloud And that setup works great for a lot of things, but if you want to do crazy things like encryption at rest, you need to jump through a lot of hoops on a regular OS. Talos has the option for a networked KMS, which is amazing.
@GergelyOrosz At my previous company, we saw a huge improvement to the quality of the knowledge base when we implemented docs-as-code. Keep the source of truth close to the natural context of the dev in MD. Create a culture where PRs must include docs. Publish to target (Confluence) via CI.
I've been thinking a lot about the multi-cluster "problem" in Kubernetes. Using NATS superclusters would most likely not magically solve all problems, but it makes me think if beyond CRI, CNI and CSI, we may need a Container Database Interface (CDBI) to allow for innovating etcd?
@ibuildthecloud I am quite happy with Svelte + Flowbite, but if you want to go the "I hate that the JS framework ecosystem has breaking changes every second Tuesday"-way, you might have a look at: https://t.co/LppJFcUaFL
@ibuildthecloud Did you have a look at https://t.co/lYj7nYRQjz? It's an evolution of https://t.co/pxUiPOT3PX and the only thing I find lacking is good AuthN and AuthZ. Managing TLS certs for mTLS fields a bit clunky.
@googlecloud is there any reason why you allow https://t.co/ksIZCPCRfu but not https://t.co/4dVKoZBBEj in Google Cloud Run? Smells like an arbitrary limitation to me. FYI, I am deploying via the Google Console UI.
Hey @Cisco, a local company donated a Nexus 3048 to me and I would love to upgrade it to the most recent firmware. Your paywall is making that impossible. Any chance you can support #sustainability and provide me with the two firmware images I need to upgrade to 9.3?
