Working on a clean, lightweight Mac + iOS streaming app as a simpler alternative to Plex. It’s for people who loved the classic Air Video HD experience — fast local playback, on-the-fly conversion, and a no-fuss UI. I’m building this entire project using Grok Build, and it’s coming together fast.

Highlights from today:
-Rapid skip now keeps the controls visible, so you can tap the skip button as fast as you want without the UI disappearing.
-“Loading” indicator moved to the bottom-right corner so it no longer covers the scrubber.
-Controls stay stable when hiding/showing in both portrait and landscape; no more video or options jumping around.
Volume slider is fully inside the app now; the big system volume HUD is suppressed.
-Full-screen toggle works great between portrait and landscape.
-In landscape, the video now uses maximum safe area height/width, and bottom controls sit lower on the screen.
-“Add computer” (+) button added to the main screen with PIN + password fields, so you can manually add servers (sets up remote access).
-Server now auto-starts when the app launches.

Overall, local playback is now very close to the classic Air Video HD feel.

I thought video playback would be straight forward. But there’s been a lot of testing to find the right balance to achieve “play-on-the-fly” with scrubbing playback! Getting there, now just a few edge cases.

@grok I’m going to add remote streaming from the home network and offline downloads of video files. Wondering if there’s ways to reduce the Grok usage to get more done without rehashing previous stuff taking of usage?

Almost used my Premium Grok weekly usage in one prompt changing up the UI design of my AirVideo HD type app. But it’s coming along nice, might need to move up to SuperGrok to continue.
