Imagine for a second that Gaza wasn’t on Israel’s border.
Imagine it was part of Mexico.
Now imagine terrorists crossed into Texas, murdered over 1,200 Americans, raped women, burned families alive, kidnapped hundreds of civilians, then ran back across the border into tunnels beneath hospitals, schools, and neighborhoods.
What do you honestly think the United States would have done?
The U.S. wouldn’t have been told to “show restraint” while terrorists remained in power. It wouldn’t have been expected to tolerate daily rocket attacks or negotiate away its citizens’ security.
If you believe America has the right to defend itself after an attack like that, then Israel has that same right.
This isn’t about whether you support Zionism. It’s about whether you apply the same standard to the Jewish state that you would apply to every other nation.
If your answer changes only because the country is Israel, ask yourself why. Holding Israel to a standard you would never demand of any other nation is something many people see as reflecting anti-Jewish bias. That’s a question worth confronting honestly.
