***you don't need college lol. The value it brings is focus space, and connection to peers with common interests. If you choose to go, sure! But if you can, consider using that money on idk an apartment, or makerspace access. On creating a safe & independent space to explore in.

My highschool had two types of math courses - Principles and Essentials. I knew I wanted to make games, so altho I'd always struggled with math, I pushed myself to take Principles*. I failed Math Principles 👉3 times👈 before I gave up** and took Essentials so I could graduate.

* you don't need to be good at math to get into making games! Eg my whole point. Even if u find ur NOT good at coding, there's SO many ways to make a game.

** "giving up" isn't always this terrible thing that it's made out to be. Sometimes, it's the best thing you can do.

Like in game design there's huge emphasis on grayboxing a level. Which is fine, block out the geometry first!

But taking a few to make it not just functional, but aesthetically delightful, makes things easier to work on. It's pleasant, and it helps stave off project burnout.

I just spent over half an hour of my finite human life, trying to get Excel to export semi;colon;separated;data instead of comma,separated,data. I had to briefly change my region in OS settings. It’s… it’s almost 2023 tho.
