From fashion to software!
My first business taught me how to build a brand and took me past β¬10k.
Now Iβm 21, starting from zero again with my first app.
Today, I got my first paying customer.
Next challenge: take this one past β¬10k too.
Different industry. Same ambition.
Did you know your Android app may already be appearing in third-party app stores?
Google Play now shares listings with enrolled third-party stores by default in the US.
No extra integration required.
Distribution is quietly becoming less centralized.
Worth checking your Catalog Settings.
Second paying customer just came in.
$24 MRR now.
Still tiny, but weβre moving.
Goal is $100 MRR next month.
One customer at a time. Getting closer π
A weird thing is happening in mobile apps:
Building is getting cheaper.
Distribution is getting more expensive.
AI keeps reducing the cost of creating software.
But everyone is fighting for the same attention.
The moat is moving.
The @X tells you if you're doing something right.

Things I believed in late 2024, when I quit a $150k job to work on Cal AI for $0/month:
> The product had to be great before marketing could work
> Signing a big creator would be the moment it turned
> Being early to a niche mattered more than being loud in it
> If I just worked hard enough the imposter feeling would go away
What was actually true:
> Distribution came first and the product got better because distribution forced it to
> No single creator turned anything. Volume did.
> Being loud beat being early, every time
> The feeling never went away. It didn't go away at #1, it didn't go away at $30M ARR, and it got worse after the acquisition.
I was wrong about all four and it still worked, because the one thing I got right was showing up to the boring list every day.
You can be wrong about a lot if you're consistent about the right one thing.
Literally the hardest part about scaling apps is finding your marketing channel + the type of content that actually converts for your app.
Once you figure that out, youβve solved the hardest part of the entire process from $0 β $20K/month.
