Ever have your whole page come to a screeching halt as JavaScript processes something heavy?

Web Workers give your app more threads for running CPU-intensive work without blocking the UI.

[Artisan Weekly @artisan_weekly]

🎉 Artisan Weekly Edition 100! 🎉

Sadly no video today the week really got ahead of me and life got in the way, but in other news we've reached a milestone that once seemed impossible - 100 editions of curating the finest Laravel content for you every week. Who would have thought it? Thank you to every developer, writer, and community member who has made this journey possible. Here's what's brilliant in Laravel this week:

🥇 Nobody Deploys to Production Like This

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to deploy your code using a car gear shifter? @christophrumpel has built exactly that - a physical deployment system that lets you trigger production deploys, run tests, and execute static analysis tools with an actual gear stick. It's equal parts engineering marvel and delightful absurdity, and the video walkthrough is absolutely worth your time.

🥈 Website Deathmatch

@ryangjchandler has created a brilliantly entertaining tool that pits two websites against each other in a head-to-head performance battle. Website Deathmatch compares sites across six key metrics including page weight, speed, domain age, and tracker count to crown a winner. It's perfect for benchmarking your site against competitors or simply learning what makes a truly lean, fast website.

🥉 Sidecar: Statamic for the Markdown You Already Have

Statamic's @jackmcdade introduces Sidecar, an experimental tool that bridges the gap between static site generators and content management. It lets you edit Markdown files from LaraDocs, Jigsaw, VitePress, and HydePHP through Statamic's beautiful Control Panel without importing content or disrupting your existing workflow. It's a third way between rebuilding everything in a CMS and having developers handle all content changes.

4️⃣ Your image uploads need a Content-Type header

Michael Dyrynda tackles a subtle but critical issue with S3-compatible object storage: ensuring uploaded images are served with the correct Content-Type headers. Without them, browsers may fail to render images properly or cache them incorrectly. Michael provides PHP enum examples and implementation patterns specifically for Laravel applications using Livewire and Nova.

5️⃣ Finding the Commit That Introduced a Laravel Bug with Pest and Git Bisect

Matteo Barbero demonstrates a powerful debugging technique that combines Pest tests with Git bisect's binary search algorithm to pinpoint exactly which commit introduced a bug. Using a practical shipping quote API example, Matteo shows how to efficiently hunt down regressions in your Laravel application's history.

6️⃣ Security Tip: Help Password Managers Get It Right!

@valorin shares a brilliant security tip about using Laravel's password validation rule to generate HTML passwordrules attributes. These attributes help password managers like 1Password and LastPass suggest compliant passwords automatically, improving user experience whilst maintaining your security requirements.

7️⃣ Common Laravel Indexing Mistakes That Are Costing You Users (and Money) in 2026

Asfia Aiman exposes the silent performance killers lurking in many Laravel applications: indexing mistakes. These errors quietly destroy performance, drive up server costs, and frustrate users. This post covers the most common indexing pitfalls and how to avoid them in your database design.

8️⃣ Extracting AI rules from an existing codebase

@pushpak1300 explains how Laravel Boost uses AI agents to intelligently extract and document project conventions from existing codebases. The post compares deterministic approaches with more sophisticated skill-based extraction methods, helping teams capture and maintain their unique architectural decisions automatically.

9️⃣ Build Your Own AI-Powered Slack Bot with the Laravel AI SDK

@nicodevs provides a comprehensive tutorial on building an AI-powered Slack bot using the Laravel AI SDK. The guide covers agent creation, webhook setup, and implementing a custom RAG-based memory system, all whilst maintaining control over your AI provider and data.

🔟 Loading relationships inside a queued job

@jclermont offers practical guidance on efficiently loading Eloquent relationships when serialising models in Laravel queued jobs and notifications. He demonstrates how to convert arrays to collections for eager loading, preventing the dreaded N+1 query problem in your background jobs.

Here's to 100 editions and many more to come. Thank you for being part of this incredible Laravel community.

You can build your own AI teammate and talk to it via Slack! 🤖

Sure, you can use a service, but building your own means you own the memory, choose the model, and can tweak it to fit your needs.

@DannyLimanseta I didn’t assume it was all AI, perhaps because of the attention to detail.
