I'm not gonna come up with some dumb excuse for calling myself a "russiaboo", that was insanely weird of me. I apologize to all my ukrainian brothers and sisters who were hurt by this, what I said was thoughtless and I didn't consider that the government is killing our people. ❤️🩹
An artist doesn't have to ask for permission to appreciate a culture. Expecting him to change his personality or interests just to please fans is an unreasonable expectation. And just because Joost earns money in Europe doesn't mean he's forbidden from appreciating other cultures
@MyauLints I understand why many Ukrainians are hurt, and no one should dismiss that pain. But as someone who has followed Joost for years, I don't believe this song is supporting Russia or the war. If you are truly familiar with his work, you know his humor is often absurd, ironic.and..
THANK YOU OOMF 🥹✌🏼 It was lowk kinda Israeli behavior to call myself a russiaboo and use that corny ass sticker and I can see where some people are coming from, I think I took this tweet too far. It's your choice if you choose not to support him but he's been through so much :(
WHY are we mad at joost? The song is good, he never said he's anti-ukraine and he's sung about wanting Russian babies before. Personally as a ukrainian, (my grandma is from odessa, I grew up with the culture and most of my family speaks it) you guys just WANT to cancel joost.
@epiicrave YESSS it's so devastating to see people so desperately trying to cancel him. I think it's hard for people to accept that this man is litterly perfect. He's unproblematic, makes peak music and he's attractive and overall a good person. Apparently that pisses people off🤷🏻♂️
