I'm thrilled to announce Open Circuit, a new weekly podcast from @_LatitudeMedia that reunites me with two of the most insightful voices in clean energy: @JigarShahDC and Katherine Hamilton!
Four years ago, our run on The Energy Gang came to a close. Since then, Jigar has transformed the DOE's loan programs office, deploying tens of billions into clean technologies. Katherine helped architect and implement the Inflation Reduction Act at 38 North Solutions. And I launched Latitude Media to tell deeper stories about the energy transition.
But the landscape has shifted dramatically. Supply chains are being remade. Political headwinds are intensifying. And unprecedented capital is flowing into clean energy markets.
We kept hearing from our former listeners that they needed something specific: clear, actionable analysis to help them navigate this complexity. That's why we're launching Open Circuit — to decode what's really driving the greatest industrial transformation in history.
The first episode drops February 14th. Listen to the trailer below and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. https://t.co/xbwzN86fE5
The Political Climate team is on the ground at the DNC this week 💙 💚 Stay tuned for what we're cooking up...new episode dropping next Friday!

Some news: after 18 years (‼️) hosting/making podcasts on the energy transition, this week marks my final episode as a host for a while. I'm stepping away from the mic to focus on growing other areas of @_LatitudeMedia.
For my last episode of @CarbonCopy_Pod, I bring on some old friends. @JigarShahDC and @CleanGridView join me to riff on some top trends of 2024 so far: AI energy demand, grid constraints, geothermal, nuclear, America's green bank, and California's rooftop solar demise. It's a lively one.
Since 2006, I've hosted four different shows on the business of clean energy. I've interviewed thousands of people on the front lines of deployment -- through many boom-bust cycles, explaining the realities of building solutions.
Many listeners have been with me since the start. It's hard to express the joy and satisfaction I get from creating content that actually helps people doing the hard work on the ground. It is the most gratifying professional thing I've ever done. Thank you.
Most importantly: The Carbon Copy feed won't go dark! We're working on a new concept (new name + new host) that we're launching in the fall. It will feature harrowing stories from people architecting the clean energy economy. 🏗️🌇🏭
We promise: this new show will be unlike any other podcast on this topic -- and we hope it'll be a critical tool for understanding the pathways to scale for a range of clean energy and climate technologies.
In the meantime, keep listening to @CatalystPod and subscribe to Latitude Media's newsletter for our industry coverage and updates on the launch of our new show.
One of the biggest stories of the year: how local lenders and green banks will manage billions of dollars for local clean energy projects. They need to get money out the door fast -- are they ready? Join me for a live conversation on July 18 with two experts at the front lines.
“We could’ve drained Frontier ourselves — the entire fund, in the next few years — on the kind of growth trajectory we were on," former @running_tide executive @Breighner told Latitude's @maevemallsup in a recent interview. Inside the startup's final year:

The U.S. rooftop solar market has tanked. On this week of Catalyst, @JigarShahDC and @shaylekann evaluate a market in trouble, and what it might take to save it. Stick around for their vision of how the residential energy model needs to evolve:

“Six to 12 months ago, I think a lot of companies were concerned about chip availability, but I think everyone has come around to realize that that is not going to be the biggest constraint,” said @BrianJanous on a recent Transition-AI event. What changed?

In the wake of Biden's new tariffs on Chinese aluminum and steel, this live conversation I'm holding next week is super relevant. We'll get some policy updates, and talk about leveraging domestic recycled steel for solar. Come join us! https://t.co/7L0FHDpUqR
In a sweeping report published earlier this week, @ENERGY outlined a detailed view on where and how AI could be integrated to modernize the grid. @maevemallsup breaks down the report's key points: https://t.co/yvNm6JgMJl
