Yeah. I wanted a party change in Canada too, it looked close and then the whole thing got polarized on nationalism because of those comments. In terms of being a statesman that was a poor play by US side. Canada, of course, is also quite skilled by now at shooting itself in the foot having done so successfully many times.
I find it hard to discuss this with Canadians who live in Canada because I find the conversations always coming back to something to CBC said, and I realize the media has a huge influence on how people think there.
Since I don’t watch the CBC overseas, there’s a lot less common ground for productive dialogue.
@BjornLomborg Given the fuel taxes they levied on top, they could have had self sufficient refining with local jobs easily by just ensuring they were always able to earn utility revenues to ensure stable supply.
