Very proud of @nicoleandersenn who officially received her master’s in psychology today from @mcgillu. Great fun for her Dad and me to be able to be on the platform for the ceremony
🚨 Do any current #McGill students want to chat with CBC News about the return to campus, including the university’s decision not to mandate vaccines? Email me [email protected]. And please RETWEET! 🚨
The @mcgillu policy for return to campus is incoherent & unethical. Despite ample time and resources to plan for in-person teaching while protecting students, McGill has *chosen* not to. No vaccine mandate. Inadequate ventilation. No routine testing or evidence-collection.1/6
"Living with it": Duke University, 98% of students and 92% of employees are fully vaccinated. In first week of school 364 cases, indoor dining suspended, back to remote teaching, student activities limited.. #auspol https://t.co/2CyUR7NvE0
Letter from provost : "The members of the McGill community have strong, and sometimes polarized, opinions about how best to achieve the goal of a high rate of vaccination. " Wondering if our School of population and Global Health @McGill_SPGH is "polarized" .
Spent 3.5 hours waiting for a quick CT scan this morning. The wonderful nurse apologized & said the hospital typically gives *18 people* 9:30am appointments (knowing that most have to be fasted for their scans). Unacceptable @cusm_muhc. Patients have lives/obligations too!
My 93 yr old Aunt and uncle live at home in Toronto and are not vaccinated despite registr online early March. Any insights on getting them appts, please let me know. Their son checks the provincial website every day—full. #COVID19Ontario, how can you fail so badly at this?
Saying it louder for the people in the back. Listening to scientists and public health professionals is NOT “panicking”. It’s simply acknowledging that people who study public health for a living know best! @francoislegault
8) On Monday, the Quebec College of Physicians and the Order of Nurses each took the unprecedented step of urging the government to tighten #pandemic restrictions. The College of Physicians again weighed in with a tweet Tuesday, arguing that following science is not panicking.
@florencedelage @chdigg1 @Aaron_Derfel Regardless, it was clearly an organized event. These are McGill undergrads being reckless & irresponsible. This has huge implications for the university, given that many probably live in Rez and/or are attending some in-person classes on campus. McGill needs to take a stand.
@Aaron_Derfel McGill graduate student here. Trying to get the Media’s attention on this. Hundreds of McGill undergraduate students participated in a massive gathering at Jeanne Mance park yesterday. Calling on McGill to do something.
**Not my photo. Belongs to an IG user.**
8) Meanwhile, as the weather gets better young Montrealers have been gathering in larger numbers, with little #PhysicalDistancing or wearing of masks. Please see the purposely blurred photo below of a group of McGill University students.
Great to see work by student @nicoleandersenn featured in an #EULAR2020 oral presentation "OP0263 - Major Stressors in the Year Prior to RA Diagnosis: Impact on Patient-Reported Outcomes One Year Later". Worse pain, #fatigue, ptglobal and
