A few weeks ago I was in waitrose shopping with Ryan, he stops in the middle of the aisle and is excitedly singing to himself, I notice a elderly lady looking at us,she comes over, nudges my arm "it's important you know, what your doing", what's that I ask," your twitter account talking about autism", all the while she's looking at Ryan, she then says that her autistic grandson had passed away a few weeks before, and asks if it's ok to cuddle Ryan, now Ryan's not really a cuddle type person he chooses to cuddle you,not the other way around, but I ask and to my surprise he says yes, before I can tell the lady it's ok she's got both of her arms around him, everyone's walking past, Ryan carrys on singing, and this lady is holding on like she'll never let go, then she just quietly says thankyou and walks off, I don't think Ryan knows how important that cuddle was to that lady, but as a dad , I do .
