I agree! I think it’s important for students to have the opportunity to choose from a few options of how they are going to learn something or what they will learn about if possible. #1stchat
@learnwithwood A4: #1stchat Although I don't have my own classroom, I think it is important that teachers offer chances for the students to choose what they learn about next. Students are most interested in topics that they like!
@learnwithwood A4: Giving students options when it’s appropriate would be great! Maybe give them the option to work individually, in partners, or in groups on assignments or projects. Give them the option of creating a poster or making a video as an assignment for example. #1stchat
@learnwithwood A3: Making sure your classroom is a comfortable, safe space for students to share is important. If students feel comfortable, they will be more willing to share their thoughts and have a voice in the class. Also, by being open to thoughts and questions during lessons. #1stchat
@learnwithwood A2: I think it’s important to help students find a way to personally connect with the concept or lesson they will be learning about in order to increase their interest. Videos, discussions, and questioning are great ways to help them get excited. #1stchat
@FirstAtBat I think it’s important to keep students engaged throughout, and even after a lesson/unit. This can be done by facilitating discussion, asking questions, encouraging students to apply background knowledge to new concepts, reflecting on the lesson, etc.
@learnwithwood A1: To me, student engagement means connecting with your students and using different stories, activities, and videos to help get your students interested in what they’re learning about. #1stchat

@JennWillTeach I get stressed out using technology for school sometimes because my teachers haven’t always taught me how to use it properly so I always feel like I’m doing something wrong or going to click the wrong button. #3043practice
@JennWillTeach Technology has allowed me to be more hands on in my education and has given my teachers more freedom to teach their lessons in creative ways. #3043practice
@JennWillTeach A1 I want to become a teacher because I love kids and want to be a good role model and support in their lives when they might not have that at home. #3043practice
