Just yesterday, Tim Houston said yet again that he will double Nova Scotia’s population.
We’re already seeing the harms of doubling the population without a thoughtful, sustainable plan. Housing stock is at an all-time low. Our hospitals are overrun. And our schools are overcrowded.
We’re told the government is focused on bringing in more doctors and skilled labour workers. But the fact is, less than 3% of newcomers to Nova Scotia last year were healthcare workers. It just doesn’t add up.
We believe that we need a sustainable plan that addresses our need for healthcare workers and skilled labourers, supports those fleeing war and persecution, and matches our capacity for growth.
This is a parent's worst nightmare. My thoughts are with Brianna's family as they deal with this unimaginable loss.
Young people and their families deserve access to treatment and recovery, not hard drugs, to fight addiction.
Bring our loved ones home drug-free.

I’m proud of the team of Nova Scotians in the PC Caucus who work hard to support their constituents and keep building up Nova Scotia. With the gap that appeared in our Cabinet in Community Services, I knew we had an incredible team who could step in to help.
One person in the Legislature, though, came to mind as someone who has a unique lived experience with this department, having grown up through the system. He’s been offering productive solutions to the challenges facing Nova Scotians over the past few months. I’m happy to welcome Halifax Atlantic MLA Brendan Maguire to the PC Caucus as the province’s new Minister of Community Services.
I’m proud to have Brendan join our hard-working team of Nova Scotians focused on getting things done.
@WeAreCanProud Need the source of this stat. I know tons of Syrian families and all of the men work, many opening their own businesses and hiring others.
Canada's 🇨🇦 very first Mosque was built in Alberta in 1938 and today we are announcing another first!
Our province will establish additional banking options for our Muslim friends, making the dream of home ownership a reality for so many more families.
It's a win for Alberta's economy and a win for Alberta's Muslim community.

As much as I love Super Mike’s just sharing that Joe’s on Main Avenue will be closed for several days as he deals with a family situation back in Lebanon. Let’s be sure to support Joe’s when he returns! #Fairview
Over three years ago I put in the application for Maroon designation and also served as a research consultant for the project. It is now going to be a reality. See the link below:
